Atlanta Braves at Washington Nationals MLB Lines

Braves at Nationals MLB Betting

If the Washington Nationals have any sort of miracle comeback in them much like they pulled off last season to win it all, Dave Martinez’s troops better kick it into high gear now with only 20 games remaining on the regular season docket. The Nats currently find themselves bringing up the rear of the NL East standings 8.5-games in back of the front running Atlanta Braves. This will be Washington’s final crack at the division leaders with the teams set to play their final four meetings of 2020 out through Sunday. Eric Fedde and his 5.29 ERA will get the starting nod in the second game of the series. He’ll be matched up against Josh Tomlin who earned his first quality start of the season last time out against these same Nats. The rivals have split their previous six meetings with the over cashing in at a 5-0-1 clip.

First pitch for the game between the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals is scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2020, at 6:05 p.m. ET from Nationals Park. The matchup will be aired live on FS1. You can bet on MLB Odds at BookMaker.eu every day of the season.

Odds Analysis

Atlanta currently sits in the catbird seat of the NL East mostly due to its heroics at Truist Park where its won 14 of 21 games to put $452 worth of MLB betting profit in its supporter’s pockets. On the road, the team’s managed a mediocre 10-10 record which finds them $266 in the red. Washington has been abysmal in the comforts of its own ball park where its accumulated a sickening 5-12 record that’s killed bankrolls to the tune of $830 for the season; the Nats haven’t won a series at home to date! Only the Rays, Yankees and Dodgers have shorter odds to win the World Series than that of the Braves who currently offer up a 12-1 return on investment. If you believe in miracles and think Washington is blessed, they’re currently paying off at 100-1!

Probable Pitchers

Josh Tomlin: The righty’s arm looked to finally be stretched out his last time out at home versus Washington after logging six innings of 1 ER ball and only allowing three hits while striking out a pair. The effort was good enough to earn him his first win as a starter this season. This will however be his third start against the Nats after logging a no-decision and serving up six hits and 2 ER the first time around. The fact that Washington will now be staring back at him a third time in a matter of two weeks leads me to believe the Nationals will be ready for his weak sauce arsenal. Tomlin’s only issued three walks through 17.1 innings as a starter but his 5.3 K/9 leaves much to be desired.

Eric Fedde: For one reason or another, Washington continues to march Fedde out to the bump every fifth day. He’s made a total of five starts this season, and each and every one of them has played to a high scorer. His first few turns in the rotation were alright save for going four innings or less in each, but the recent results have been horrific with the righty getting bludgeoned like a piñata. He took a no-decision last time out against Atlanta after serving up six hits (3 HR) and 4 ER in a brief 3.2 inning stint. He would’ve been on the hook for the loss if not for Washington taking advantage of the Braves’ bullpen late. His career stats against the Braves are nothing short of nightmarish; how’s a 17.35 ERA and .483 BAA through 9.1 innings sound? Not good!

MLB Pick

You can’t help but think the offenses have a good ‘ol time in the second game of this series. Though Juan Soto likely won’t be able to give it a go due to elbow soreness, this will still be the third time Washington’s lineup will step into the box to face Tomlin. As for Fedde, he’s nothing short of a batting practice arm right now that Atlanta’s unforgiving offense won’t have any issue teeing off on. Adam Duvall and Marcell Ozuna are bats to target for player prop purposes as they’ve teed off on the righty in the past. Look for both bullpens to get involved early which will have the scoreboard operators struggling to keep up throughout the game’s duration.

MLB Odds: Braves 11, Nationals 10
