The Los Angeles Angels rate out as one of only seven American League teams that own a +.500 record to this point of the MLB betting season. Even so, online sportsbooks currently have 10 teams lined with shorter odds to win the World Series. Is Joe Maddon’s squad one MLB bettors can seriously trust? It’ll finally get a chance to prove it belongs with a huge series in the Bronx against Aaron Judge and the AL East leading New York Yankees to kick off the week. It’ll prove to be a breath of fresh air for Shohei Ohtani and Co. after being forced to run up against the division rival Texas Rangers and Oakland A’s in 12 of their last 16 games. Noah Syndergaard returns to New York to toe the bump in the opener to oppose Jordan Montgomery who’s yet to tally a notch in the win column on the year. I don’t foresee him doing so in this one either with Thor and the Halos looking to put on a show to prove they belong!
First pitch for the series opener between the Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Take it in live on TBS at 7:05 p.m. ET from Yankee Stadium. Bet on MLB odds and player props at BookMaker.eu every day of the season.

Odds Analysis
After finishing eight-games below the breakeven point in 2021 which found the team in the red overall, the Angels have been one of the bigger moneymakers against the MLB odds through the first seven weeks of the season. LA enters Thursday’s series opener with the Blue Jays 27-18 overall and nearly $300 in the black for its wagering supporters. It’s been a winning investment on the road where the team stands 12-9 $228; its record would look even better if not for shockingly getting swept by Texas the last time it hit the road. Since seeing its 11-game win streak come to a close in early May, Aaron Boone’s troops have stayed the course scoring wins in 14 of its last 19 games to remain owners of the best record in the game. Sitting 18-games over the breakeven point, only the D’backs and Padres have made more money for baseball bettors $674. The team’s been sensational at home where it stands 17-6 and has only lost one series to date; most recently against the White Sox.
Probable Pitchers
Noah Syndergaard (R): The offseason gamble on the righthander looks to be paying off. Syndergaard has made seven starts for his new team and stands 4-2 with a 3.08 ERA and 27:8 K/BB ratio in those outings. Two of his last four starts have been of quality with the last seeing him score a redemption win against Texas who lit him up at home back on May 16. After failing to pitch a single inning in that outing, Thor would put forth his longest effort of the season by tossing eight innings of 1 ER ball with 5 K and no walks issued. While his 6.4 K/9 average is a career low, his 7.8 hits per nine innings allowed is also a career best. It seems his limited velocity has produced better overall results. It remains to be seen if it continues against a powerful Yankees lineup.
Jordan Montgomery (L): “The Bear” has made four of his nine starts against a Baltimore Orioles team that ranks in the bottom third of the league in most pertinent stat categories. Even so, he’s yet to log a single win overall. It’s also a main reason why his 0-1 record has translated into a 3.30 ERA and 37:8 K/BB ratio; the O’s are the fourth easiest team in the league to set down via the strikeout! Montgomery’s other five starts have come against the Red Sox, Tigers, Blue Jays, Rangers, and White Sox. Not a single one of them rates out with an above average offense! This outing against the Angels represents his toughest assignment to date with LA 8-4 and averaging 5.5 runs per game against left-handed pitching. Bet the under of Monty’s pitching outs prop.
Angels vs. Yankees Prediction
The Yankees will hit the board as favorites to win this game as they should considering they’ve been installed the favored side in all but one of their games played to date. That being said, I lean to Mike Trout and his mates in this one with Syndergaard looking to make a statement against a Yankees lineup that will be without the services of Giancarlo Stanton. Throw the boring arsenal of Montgomery into the mix paired with LA’s ability to rake against south paws, and I only have eyes for the visitors in the series opener. The last time Ohtani invaded Gotham, he put on a clinic launching three balls into the cheap seats. That short porch in right is likely to get bludgeoned again! Bet his home run prop and also hit the Angels on the moneyline to win the opener.
