The Los Angeles Dodgers will lose a few games before the season ends, it just doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. A new week brings a new set of challenges and the Dodgers will be facing a desperate Milwaukee Brewers squad Thursday on FS1 in the third of a three-game set. LA opened its current seven game road trip the way it ended its last homestand; by winning. The Dodgers extended their winning streak to 12 games by stomping the Royals 13-3 on Saturday smashing six homers. Through all their greatness of the last decade with division titles and playoff appearances, the club never won that many games in a row. In fact it’s been over 40 years since they had a longer winning streak.
First pitch for this NL contest between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from American Family Field in Milwaukee. The matchup will air live on FS1. Bet on MLB odds and player props at BookMaker.eu every day of the season.

Odds Analysis
The Dodgers were winning a lot of games despite not getting contributions from guys expected to fill the role. Can you imagine how scary they’d be if Max Muncy and Cody Bellinger start hitting. Well, after a season-long slumber it looks like Muncy has found a groove giving the highest scoring team in MLB a boost. Muncy hit safely in eight of the first nine games this month with a .424 average, five homers and 12 RBIs. All of their 12 wins in the streak have been by multiple runs with the Dodgers plating at least seven runs nine times with the OVER at 7-3-2.
Winning over 70 percent of your games can make even the biggest of favorites profitable. The Dodgers have been a good investment in the black $1058 on the moneyline. They also lead MLB by a wide margin in run differential at plus-251 making them a strong play on the run line. They are 71-41 ATS putting them up nearly $3000. As good as the Dodgers have been over the last several years they’ve won only one World Series. They will be judged by their postseason success or failures, but that doesn’t mean they won’t go all out during the regular season.
The Brewers went through an adjustment period after the trade deadline that saw the club part with All-Star closer Josh Hader. They went out and got swept in a three-game set by Pittsburgh and dropped two of three to Cincinnati. That spell also put them behind St. Louis in the race for the NL Central title. They did pick themselves up taking two from Tampa Bay and splitting the first two games in a crucial weekend series with the Cards. Last season’s series was fairly even with each time winning three times at home. The Dodgers won the dangler 6-4 in Milwaukee starting a current four-game winning streak.
Probable Pitchers
I’m not sure if the Dodgers make Tony Gonsolin (14-1, 2.24 ERA) good or it’s the other way around. A quick look at the numbers gives you an idea, though. Gonsolin has just the one loss that came during a rough three-start spell at the end of July when he pitched to a 6.75 ERA over 16 innings. The righty snapped out of it with five shutout innings against San Diego followed by another masterpiece in KC. Gonsolin held the Royals to two hits and one run over 6.2 innings in an 8-3 win last time out. He’s allowed just 71 hits in 116.1 innings for a league-low 0.86 WHIP. Over his last 13 starts the Dodgers are 12-1 with the UNDER going 8-3-2. Gonsolin will be facing the Brewers for the first time
If Eric Lauer (8-4, 3.64) can keep the game close he increases Milwaukee’s chances of getting a victory. That’s because the Dodgers are just 8-9 in one-run games. The only problem is that few hurlers this season have been able to do that with LA playing just 17 one-run games, the fewest in MLB. However, Lauer has had all kinds of success against the Dodgers in his career going 6-0 with 2.56 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in nine starts covering 52.2 innings. Over his 21 starts Lauer has held 16 opponents to three runs or fewer and he’s been effective over his last seven starts going 2-1 with a 2.90 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.
Dodgers at Brewers Prediction
The Dodgers have been on another planet most of the season and especially since the start of August. You can’t win them all, though, and at some point things will level out. But I still like what they have going on with strong pitching and efficient offense. Even when Gonsolin doesn’t pitch well, which is rare, the Dodgers find a way to win most games. And they’ll find a way in this one.
