We got off to a great start this week, sweeping the board on Tuesday night, hitting all three parlays. We hit the Mariners and over, the Dodgers and under and our three-team parlay of the Twins, Cardinals and Rangers. Wednesday could have been another big day if not for the Twins bullpen collapsing. Friday night is Apple TV+ coverage, as they have two games. They will be showing the Toronto Blue Jays at the Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox at the New York Yankees. ESPN+ has the game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Minnesota Twins, while MLB Network has the matinee between the Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs and the night game between the Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Angels. The Baltimore Orioles visit the Oakland Athletics on Friday night and the probable pitching matchup should have Kyle Gibson going against Luis Medina. Gibson is 11-7 with a 4.89 ERA, while Medina is 3-8 with a 5.31 ERA. I know that Medina has pitched a little better lately, but he still hasn’t been that great and he figures to have a tough time in this game against a very good Baltimore lineup. I’ll take the Orioles and the game over the total.

Diamondbacks-Padres Over 9.5 (-125)

The Arizona Diamondbacks visit the San Diego Padres on Friday night in a matchup between two teams trying to stay alive in the NL Wild Card race. It should be Brandon Pfaadt going for Arizona, while San Diego sends Seth Lugo. Pfaadt is 0-6 with an ERA of nearly seven, but the Diamondbacks are throwing him out there again. Lugo is 4-6 with a 4.16 ERA. I’ll take the Padres and the game over the total.

The Chicago Cubs host the Kansas City Royals on Friday and it should be a good matchup for the Cubs. They are expected to have Jameson Taillon on the mound, while the Royals send Cole Ragans. It has been a shift for Ragans who went from Texas to Kansas City and Ragans has been hit and miss. He is 3-4 with a 4.21 ERA. Taillon had been pitching really well in the last month until a clunker against Toronto. I’ll take the Cubs as the first team in the parlay.
The Braves host the Giants on Friday and it should be Alex Cobb going against Spencer Strider. The Braves seemingly win every day and Strider has been excellent this season with a 13-4 record and a 3.75 ERA. I’ll take the Braves as the second team in the parlay.
For the last team in the parlay, I’ll take an underdog and I rarely do that, so we’ll see how it goes. I am also going against the Dodgers and I almost never do that. It should be Sandy Alcantara going for the Marlins, while the Dodgers send Tony Gonsolin.
Alcantara has been more like his Cy Young self of a year ago lately, as he has given up one run or less in three of his last four starts. Gonsolin did pitch well last time out against the Rockies, but Gonsolin’s spot in the rotation is on shaky ground. I’ll take the Marlins as the last team in the parlay.
