All of the action on Friday, May 19 is under the lights with Apple TV+ covering the action along with MLB Network and ESPN+. Apple TV+ has the Baltimore Orioles at the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners at the Atlanta Braves. MLB Network has the Los Angeles Dodgers at the St. Louis Cardinals, while ESPN+ has the Milwaukee Brewers at the Tampa Bay Rays. I have always said that I would much rather lose all three games in a parlay than win two games and lose one and that is what happened on Tuesday night when all three games lost. Mariners-Braves Under 9
The Seattle Mariners visit the Atlanta Braves on Friday night and it should be a battle between young starting pitchers with Bryce Miller going for Seattle, while Atlanta throws Bryce Elder. It would be hard to be more impressive than Miller has been for the Mariners, as he is 2-0 with a 0.47 ERA. He has been saving this Seattle staff who has gotten nothing lately from the high-priced Luis Castillo and not much from Logan Gilbert. Elder has been excellent with a 3-0 record and a 1.94 ERA for the Braves. I can’t see many runs being scored in this one so I will go under the total with the Mariners and Braves for the first game in the parlay.
Houston Astros
The Oakland Athletics visit the Houston Astros on Friday night and the probable pitching matchup had Ken Waldichuk going against Brandon Bielak. As long as the A’s keep sending out Waldichuk I am going against him, as I haven’t seen anything to show me that he is a quality starting pitcher. He is 1-2 with a 7.02 ERA this season. Bielak has only made a couple of starts and has an ERA just over three. I don’t really care who the Astros throw, as this is a play against Waldichuk and the A’s. The Astros at the superior team and anything less than a sweep in this series would be a big surprise. I’ll take the Astros for the second game in the parlay.
Marlins-Giants Under 7
The Miami Marlins visit the San Francisco Giants on Friday night and it should be an excellent pitching matchup with Sandy Alcantara going for the Marlins, while the Giants go with Anthony DeScalafini. It has been a bit of a rough start for Alcantara, but he is still the ace for Miami and I expect a good start for him on Friday night. He is coming off a bad outing against Cincinnati and I expect a much better effort in this game against the Giants. DeSclafani is 3-3 with a 3.06 ERA this season. He should have success against a weak hitting Miami lineup. I’ll go under the total with the Marlins and Giants as the last game in the parlay.
