As much as I’d like to make a wager on the game between the Dodgers and Yankees I think I’ll just sit back and enjoy it as a fan. If I did place a bet it would have to be on the Bombers since they’ve been on fire winning seven straight games and 11 of 13 following Wednesday’s 9-5 triumph over Minnesota. New York’s also been the most profitable team in MLB going up $1,648 from the start. The Yanks boast the best pitching staff in MLB with a sub-2.80 ERA and they have a top 5 offense averaging nearly 5.0 runs while tied for the MLB lead in home runs.
I just talked myself into backing the Yankees on the moneyline as part of my three-team MLB parlay. For the other games I’m going to stick to the divisional contests with Philadelphia a pick against the spread versus the Mets. New York dug itself out of a hole and stopped the criticism for now by sweeping Washington. However, prior to that they lost 10 of 13 games and I doubt a trip to London against the best team in the NL is going to change their fortunes.
The Phils took three of four in a mid-May series outscoring the Mets 24-15. Though the offense did some damage against the Nats, the Mets face a much better pitching staff and have to contend with Ranger Suarez, Philly’s probable starter on Saturday.
The Cubs got back to .500 sweeping a 2-game set from their cross town rival White Sox. It was just the confidence boost the club needed after dropping nine of 11. Not only did the Cubs win they came from behind in both games and showed some offensive punch that was missing during their recent slump. The teams last week with Cincy winning two of three at Wrigley getting the Cubs pumped for payback.

I had two of three parts needed to win my same game parlay correct in last week’s Angels-Mariners game. I had Seattle outright and UNDER 7.5 runs. The M’s emerged victorious by blanking the Halos, but with the help of six walks and two hit-batsmen the M’s scored 9 times. All we’re missing is the Blue Sox to make this a patriotic game. Going through a rebuild can be frustrating and the White Sox are experiencing that. Losing twice to the Cubs extended their losing streak to 13 games, but they showed some pop on offense with Luis Robert Jr. back in the lineup helping this game go OVER the total. And I just can’t back Chicago given how poorly they’ve played.
