MLB Saturday, September 14, 2024 Parlay Picks

With just a few weeks remaining in the 2024 MLB regular season there are some key matchups on the schedule for Saturday, September 14 to help clarify playoff positioning. Two of those games take place in the NL between division leaders and wild card contenders. The New York Mets won’t catch the Phillies in the NL East but they can track down the top wild card spot. No-hit through eight innings on Wednesday, the Mets rallied in the ninth to beat Toronto for their 11th win in 13 games. And the way they’re playing maybe they can catch the Phils with seven games against them over the final two weeks. The Brewers have a comfortable lead in the NL Central and they visit Arizona on Saturday with the Dbacks trying to fend off the Mets and catch San Diego atop the wild card standings. Maybe the playoff picture will be less clear after Saturday’s games.

MLB Parlay Picks for Saturday, September 14, 2024

Yankees ML vs. Red Sox

Astros RL at Angels

Rangers / Mariners UNDER

Last week’s three-team MLB parlay came up short with two of my picks losing outright. I backed the Phillies on the runline against Miami and they got hammered, 9-5. San Diego also lost at home to their NL West rival San Francisco, 6-3. I did win backing the Royals in their AL Central contest with Minnesota. It’s been several weeks since I hit a three-teamer and time is running out so I better make these upcoming MLB parlays worth it.

It wasn’t planned but my three-teamer features all AL games. Around a month ago the Red Sox made a charge up the AL East standings putting heat on the Yankees and Orioles. Turns out they blew their wad and have since faded dropping off the wild card pace too. The Yanks need wins and it would be sweet to secure a playoff berth by knocking off their rival. Probable starter Gerrit Cole has been phenomenal over his last six starts boasting a 1.31 ERA giving New York an excellent chance of winning this game.

The Angels haven’t had much success against the Astros the last few seasons so splitting the first six meetings is quite an accomplishment. The Halos cashed it in a while ago giving their young players a chance at the big league level. So far it hasn’t worked as they’ve fallen further behind Oakland at the bottom of the AL West. Houston hasn’t exactly been tearing it up but they are the only division club more than one game over .500 at the time of this writing. Their offense against a weak Angels pitching staff is enough to back the visitors against the spread.

When the total started dropping in Mariners’ games I backed off. It was a good move, too, since they had a little spurt of offense after changing managers. They still have issues plating runs and their season-long hitting slump has continued. Also, it appears as though Max Scherzer will pitch and though he’ll likely have restrictions, he can easily silence the bats. The Rangers won’t score many runs either and I’m back to backing the UNDER.

MLB Same Game Parlay

Cubs RL

Cubs / Rockies OVER

I’ve stayed afloat this season hitting a number of MLB same game parlays and my favorite team to pick on helped me win again last week. In the battle of Sox I backed Red on the runline over White along with the OVER. Boston’s 7-5 victory sent me to the payout window. I’ll give White the week off and instead go to the north side of town. That’s where the Cubs reside and they made a move recently fueled by a relentless offense. During a stretch of nine wins in 10 games they averaged nearly 10 runs. Put that kind of production in Coors Field and the Cubbies could soar.
