It is getaway day in Major League Baseball on Wednesday with eight matinees on the schedule. MLB Network and ESPN+ will televise the matinee between the Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs while MLB Network has the matinee between the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies. The night game on MLB Network will be the Boston Red Sox at the Houston Astros, while ESPN+ will show the game between the Colorado Rockies and Tampa Bay Rays. We have had some good success lately with the parlays, so we’ll look to keep it going on Wednesday with a couple of same game parlays and a three-team parlay. The Twins are just barely above .500 but in the American League Central that is good enough for first place. The Brewers are a little better, but they are not that imposing as the National League Central leader. It should be Kenta Maeda going for the Twins, while the Brewers send Corbin Burnes. Maeda is 3-7 with a 4.13 ERA, while Burnes is 9-6 with a 3.43 ERA. I’ll go with Milwaukee and the game under the total.

The Cincinnati Reds visit the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday and it should be Shohei Ohtani on the mound for the Angels. He is 10-5 on the season with a 3.17 ERA. Brett Kennedy should be getting the start for the Reds. He is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA. I’ll take the Angels and the game under the total.

The red-hot Seattle Mariners visit the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday and it should be George Kirby going for the Mariners, while the White Sox send Michael Kopech. Kirby is 10-8 with a 3.23 ERA, while Kopech is 5-11 with a 5.12 ERA. I’ll take the Mariners as the first team in the parlay.
The Tampa Bay Rays are still right behind the Baltimore Orioles in the American League East and the Rays are very thankful now that they made the trade for Aaron Civale. He is now the ace of their staff and he gets the start on Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies are a bad team going nowhere and it should be Austin Gomber on the mound on Wednesday. This is a total mismatch that the Rays should win easily. I’ll take Tampa as the second team in the parlay.
The Boston Red Sox play the Houston Astros in a key American League matchup on Wednesday. Both teams are battling for a Wild Card spot in the American League. The Red Sox have been the surprise team and they are very much in the race, while the Astros have been a bit of a disappointment. Houston still has time to turn things around and win the American League West, but they need to start playing better. The pitching matchup on Wednesday looks like it should be one where a lot of runs are scored.
The Red Sox are sending Chris Sale and this is not the Chris Sale of years ago. He is 5-3 with a 4.50 ERA. The Astros are going with Jose Urquidy and he is 2-3 with a 5.21 ERA. Urquidy has been in the bullpen, so it is a little surprising he is getting this start. I’ll go over the total with Boston and Houston as the final game in the parlay.
