It is getaway day in Major League Baseball on Wednesday and there are nine matinees on the schedule. MLB Network will be showing four games on Wednesday, beginning with the Los Angeles Angels at the Philadelphia Phillies. Next up for MLB Network is the San Diego Padres at the St. Louis Cardinals followed by the Texas Rangers at the New York Mets. The late game on the network has the Arizona Diamondbacks at the Los Angeles Dodgers. ESPN+ has the Cleveland Indians at the Minnesota Twins and the Houston Astros at the Boston Red Sox. The Texas Rangers visit the New York Mets on Wednesday and it should be a good pitching matchup with Dane Dunning going for the Rangers, while the Mets send Kodai Senga. Dunning comes into this game at 9-6 with a 3.36 ERA. One of the few bright spots for the Mets has been Senga, as he is 10-7 with a 3.17 ERA. I’ll take the Rangers and the game under the total.

It is never a bad idea to take the Dodgers in a parlay, as they are one of the best teams in the league. The matchup for Wednesday night is really in favor of Los Angeles, as they will be sending Lance Lynn while the Diamondbacks are giving yet another start to Brandon Pfaadt. Lynn has been better with Los Angeles than he was with the White Sox, but he still has a high ERA. Pfaadt has really struggled with Arizona, as he is 1-6 with a 5.91 ERA. And yes, I know Pfaadt has pitched better of late, but I am still not sold. I’ll take the Dodgers and the game over the total.

The Angels are one of the teams that has pretty much mailed it in for the rest of the season. They visit the Phillies in a Wednesday matinee and the pitching matchup favors the Phillies. The Angels are sending Reid Detmers who has been a massive disappointment, while the Phillies are going with Cristopher Sanchez. Detmer is 3-10 on the season with an ERA of more than five, while Sanchez is 2-3 with a 3.33 ERA. I’ll take the Phillies as the first team in the parlay.
The Yankees are not going to make the playoffs, but one pitcher who still cares about this season is Gerrit Cole who is still in consideration for the AL Cy Young award. Cole is 11-4 on the season with a 2.95 ERA. The Yankees visit the Tigers who are supposed to send Matt Manning. He is 5-4 with a 3.93 ERA. I don’t care who the Tigers throw, as this is a play on Cole.
The last team in the parlay is the Mariners who are rolling right now. They should be going with Bryce Miller on Wednesday against a bad Oakland team. The A’s will probably go with Zach Neal who is 1-0 with a 6.88 ERA. Miller is 8-4 with a 3.90 ERA. I’ll take the Mariners as the last team in the parlay.
