Several teams will try and work their way out of a slump as part of MLB’s 15-game schedule for Wednesday, July 3. As part of my MLB parlay last week I backed the New York Yankees in their Subway Series matchup with the Mets. While the Yanks hit a bump in the road the Mets were on a roll and the outcome was not in my favor. It helps reading the tea leaves when trying to build a winning MLB parlay. Going into that game the Yankees had lost five of six games while the Mets were 10-2 over their previous 12 outings. The Mets have stayed hot playing themselves into the wild card conversation and visit Washington on Wednesday. The Yankees host Cincinnati in an interleague tilt with New York 13-10 against foes from the NL.

I went back to a team that’s been good to me on my MLB parlays this season and the Phillies delivered with a 6-2 win over Detroit. That was the only winning pick on my three-teamer though. I mentioned how the Yankees flopped and I also backed OVER 8.5 in the Colorado-Houston contest. When you’re slumping things go against you and the Astros eked out a 7-1 win handing me another setback. It wasn’t a total waste, though, since I did at least hit my same game parlay.
It’s surprising to know that the Guardians have a losing record against the White Sox this season going 3-4. The second-best team in the AL against the worst in baseball looks inviting, but I’ve been bitten by the Sox this season. However, that won’t stop me from backing the Guardians, who’ve been good at home winning more than 74 percent of their games.
If I learned a lesson from the Yankees last week I’ll have to back the Houston Astros on the moneyline in their trip north of the border. Houston climbed back to .500 and closed the gap on Seattle in the AL West. They remain a championship caliber club with a lineup that’s been in a groove. They won eight of nine games heading into Sunday’s night’s encounter averaging more than seven runs in those eight victories.
It’s always tempting to bet the OVER on games in Denver, but for the Rockies matchup with Milwaukee I’m going the other direction. The Brewers have done a fantastic job suppressing runs against and I think they can beat the Rox. However, I’m backing the UNDER since totals are inflated in the thin air and Milwaukee’s staff is good sporting a top 10 ERA.

My same game MLB parlay wins have kept me afloat recently and I hit another last week. I’m not picking on the White Sox but they are an easy target. And backing the Dodgers on the run line against Chicago proved to be fruitful. LA got a stunning performance from Gavin Stone, who tossed a four-hit shutout in a 4-0 win highlighting my winning ticket since I went UNDER the total. I went back and forth on this game ultimately deciding the UNDER was a solid bet. And I also anticipate the Orioles to take advantage of Seattle outfit that has a tough time scoring runs. The O’s ended a five-game skid beating Cleveland last week in what was the first of a four-game streak that helped push Baltimore to the top of the AL Central standings. The O’s are also one of the best road teams this season standing 10 games over .500 when playing away from home.
