It is getaway day in Major League Baseball on Wednesday with the majority of the games being played in the day. There are nine matinees on Wednesday including the Dodgers at the Brewers on MLB Network. The other two nationally televised games on Wednesday have the Tigers at the Indians on ESPN+ and the Red Sox at the Braves on MLB Network. We have had some good success with the MLB parlay picks over the first month and a half of the season. We’ll look at two sides and one total with our three-team parlay. New York Yankees
The Oakland Athletics visit the New York Yankees on Wednesday in a matinee. The A’s are the worst team in the league so it is never a bad idea to go against them and their probable pitcher on Wednesday, Kyle Muller is really struggling. He is 1-2 with a 6.62 ERA. The Yankees haven’t been anything special so far this season, but they are at home on Wednesday afternoon and I think this is a good spot for Jhony Brito to pitch well in front of his home fans. He is just 2-3 with a 6.08 ERA, but he should have success against this A’s lineup. I’ll take the Yankees as the first team in the parlay.
New York Mets
The Mets visit the Reds on Wednesday and it should be Justin Verlander getting the start for New York, while Cincinnati throws Hunter Greene. Verlander looked pretty good in his first start, as he went five innings and allowed just two runs against Detroit. Verlander should be even better in his second start of the season and he gets a good matchup against a Cincinnati team that has struggled for much of the season. Greene gets a lot of press for the Reds because of how hard he throws, but his results haven’t been there. He comes into this game at 0-2 with a 3.74 ERA. I will go against Greene in some of my picks because I think he is overrated and overpriced. I’ll take the Mets as the second team in the parlay.
Cardinals-Cubs Under
The Cardinals and Cubs meet on Wednesday night and it should be an excellent pitching matchup between Jordan Montgomery and Justin Steele. Montgomery has been pitching well with limited results, as he is just 2-4 but his ERA is 3.29. Montgomery has gone at least six innings in four of his five starts. He has had just one bad outing this season and that came early in the season against Arizona. Steele has been one of the top pitchers in the league this season, as he comes into this game with a 5-0 record and a 1.45 ERA. Steele has given up two earned runs or less in all five of his starts this season. This should be a game where runs are at a premium. I’ll go under the total with the Cardinals and Cubs as the last game in the parlay.
