MLB Parlay Picks for Wednesday, September 18, 2024

MLB Wednesday, September 18, 2024 Parlay Picks

It’s probably a good thing for my MLB parlays that the 2024 season is nearing an end. Last week’s picks failed miserably with the three-teamer missing all wagers. We can look at the positive, though, and say we have only a few more chances to cash a winning ticket. And well, since there are 15 games on the schedule for Saturday, September 18, playing a parlay is the only thing to do. There are some good games on the docket with teams looking to secure a postseason berth. With the NL West still on the table, the San Diego Padres still have to concern themselves with their wild card standing. They enter the week as the best NL team among non-division leaders and host the AL West leading Houston Astros. There’s also a key matchup between NL division leaders Philadelphia and Milwaukee.

MLB Parlay Picks for Wednesday, September 18, 2024

Orioles RL vs. Giants

Guardians ML vs. Twins

Nationals ML at Mets

Maybe I should’ve played the White Sox last week. Giving them a week off my parlay card I instead picked The Phils and Houston on the run line. The Astros lost outright to the A’s and the Phils failed to cover in their 3-2 win over Tampa. I also backed Baltimore on the moneyline against Boston. The Sox won with a walk off homer in the 10th inning. That kinda sums up our three-team parlay picks for the season.

That won’t prevent me from going all out in the last few weeks of the regular season. Baltimore has to get their stuff straightened out heading into the playoffs. They fell further behind the Yankees during a recent rough patch but can get healthy in a hurry against the Giants, who played themselves out of wild card contention in the NL. Shifting to a younger lineup the offense has suffered in San Fran with the team recently blanked in three straight games. I’ll back the O’s staff to keep the Giants in check while the offense does enough to secure a victory.

The AL Central has been with the Royals fighting for a playoff berth after losing 100 games last year. And there’s the White Sox, who are close to setting a record for futility. It’s been the Guardians that have commanded the division behind a stellar bullpen and a healthy home field record. Cleveland is one the best on their own turf and the Twins have faded recently giving me enough incentive to back Cleveland.

Lastly, the Mets are making a valiant run after a horrible start to the season, but I think they have blown their wad. With a chance to make the NL East more competitive, the Mets dropped two of three to Philly. And I don’t think they recover in time giving the Nats and edge that they will take advantage of.

MLB Same Game Parlay

Brewers ML

Phillies / Brewers OVER

My parlay picks were so bad last week I even missed on my same-gamer after enjoying a nice little run that helped my pocketbook. This matchup between division leaders could get intense with the Brewers having something to prove to all the doubters out there. You can see by looking at World Series odds that the Brewers aren’t getting a lot of respect. And is there a better chance for them to prove their worth? They’re not as good on their home turf as the Phils are on theirs, but their 42 wins through Sunday is the second-most in the AL and their run-differential is the best. All they do is play hard and succeed. It’s almost as if their young players don’t know any better and the Crew isn’t going to be intimidated by anyone. Willie Adames and William Contreras lead an offense that averages nearly five runs and taking out the Phils is priority.
