The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in great shape now. If they run the table as they are expected to do, they should ultimately find their way into the College Football Playoff. Games like this against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons shouldn't provide any challenge whatsoever, and the only real question is whether the ACC bottom feeders can snare a cover in South Bend against a huge betting line.... 

J.T. Barrett has served his one-game suspension for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and he's expected to be back in the saddle as their starting quarterback on Saturday for a potentially tricky trap game against the Illinois Fighting Illini.... 

The season hasn’t gone the way either team thought, and the Tech’s are hooking up with an eye to stay out of the cellar in the ACC Coastal, rather than fighting for first like was projected before the year began. Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer is calling it quits after 29 years in Blacksburg and the Hokies would like to hold off on the retirement party until December. They need a few more wins to do that.... 

The Memphis Tigers were the team du jour in the AAC before losing to Navy last week. Now, the Houston Cougars are the last hope the conference has of crashing the party in the College Football Playoff. It's going to take a really impressive showing on Saturday night to impress the voters, but the opportunity is still there to continue moving up the ladder.... 

The Trojans have trounced the Buffaloes over the last four seasons since these two teams began meeting in conference play.USC is once again the heavy favorite, though this time the spread sits lower than it has for any of those previous four meetings.... 

The MAC West is a four-team race with just a few weeks left to play. The Western Michigan Broncos are right in the thick of it at 5-0. Winning this game would go a long way towards setting up a potential rematch against the Bowling Green Falcons in the MAC Championship Game.... 

History sides with the Rockets who’ve beaten the Chippewas in each of the last five years both SU and ATS.Toledo will get a chance to extend that number to six while rebounding from its first loss of the season.... 

Another shakeup in the college football rankings took place in Week 10, and that sets us up for what could be a huge Week 11 as well. There are a number of massive.... 

It's "Separation Saturday" across college football, as there are some awesome games which will prove to be separators across a ton of conferences. Teams will be eliminated from the College Football Playoff once and for all, and line movement suggests who some of those teams might be who should be sweating going into the weekend.... 

Oklahoma State can now be considered one of the big boys in the Big 12 and the Cowboys can send shock waves through the college football landscape with a win over TCU. The Frogs visit Stillwater for the third time in four seasons and again have a bit of a chip on their shoulder in regards to the CFP selection committee. TCU was ranked eighth in the first poll and will use the lack of respect as motivation.... 

The biggest game of the college football season takes center stage Saturday in primetime. LSU can take command of the SEC West and improve its standing the in the CFP for at least another week. While the SEC hasn’t been as dominant as in years past, it’s still the strongest conference in college football, and this matchup could turn out to be the championship of the division, the conference and maybe even the entire 2015 season.... 

The most winnable game on the back end of Arizona’s schedule was likely last week. And the Cats got pummeled by Washington. With games against Pac-12 South leaders USC and Utah coming up and the finale against Arizona State, the Wildcats could be left out of the bowl picture one season after playing in the conference title game. Is it a wonder why RichRod’s name keeps popping up for other coaching vacancies around the country?... 

After losing their last two games by a combined 103-points, the Jayhawks are still in search of their first win of the season. Texas has taken advantage of a weak Kansas team over the years. They shut them out last year and have beaten both them and the spread in five of the last seven meetings.... 

Wow, Week 9 in the Big Ten is in the books. Time flies as we head down the stretch in conference play. The conference has five teams ranked in the top 25. Ohio State, Michigan State and Iowa are all ranked in the top 10 and all remained undefeated last week. Iowa beat Maryland 31-15 and both the Buckeyes and Spartans were idle.Elsewhere, Penn State shutout Illinois, Wisconsin whipped Rutgers, 48-10, Purdue upset Nebraska and in a wild game, Michigan scored late in the fourth quarter to avoid an upset and prevailed over Minnesota, 29-26.... 

Ranked at the bottom of the Top-25, Texas A&M has had the better season, but back-to-back losses to Alabama and Ole Miss have taken their toll. The Aggies, however, rebounded with a win over South Carolina their last time out while Auburn has dropped two straight and four of six.... 

After a commanding 27-3 win over the Bulldogs in the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party,” the Gators will return home with their elite defense matching up against a Vandy team that hasn’t scored more than 10 points in its last three games.... 

The Ole Miss Rebels are still the fly in the ointment for the College Football Playoff per se, as they still control their destiny in the SEC West.They've got what is expected to be a relatively easy game on Saturday at home against the Arkansas Razorbacks.... 

Ohio State opened the season atop the AP Top-25 and as 14-point favorites for this game according to the Golden Nugget College Football Game of the Year lines. The Buckeyes are still perched atop both the AP Top-25 and Coaches Poll, but the Spartans are ranked No. 6 as both are undefeated at 8-0.... 

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have had a frustrating last couple of weeks, getting blown away by Wisconsin and Ohio State by a combined 80 points. The Michigan Wolverines probably aren't going to make life any easier on them this Saturday.... 

Think there are a few Nebraska Cornhuskers fans out there who want Bo Pelini back? The Huskers are just one more loss away from not going to a bowl game this year, and that loss is almost certain to be on tap against one of the top teams in America, the Michigan State Spartans.... 

Pitt had climbed to No. 23 in last week’s AP poll and was sitting atop the ACC Coastal Division until a loss to North Carolina dropped them from both. Notre Dame continues to find ways to win and will look to avoid any potholes before its regular season finale showdown with No. 9 Stanford. The Panthers have been a tough out for the Irish with the teams splitting the last six games with each being decided by no more than seven points.... 

Clemson has a clear path to the College Football Playoff if it can get past Florida State in a game that likely decides the ACC Atlantic Division title. The Seminoles could have playmakers Everett Golson and Dalvin Cook back in the lineup after the two missed last week’s game, which will boost their chances of an upset. The home team is 8-2 SU over the last 10 meetings, but just 5-5 ATS.... 

Fresno State has just two wins this season and overall, their defense and offense have been atrocious.The team has been outscored by an average of 19.9 points, and will once again have its hands full with the win-hungry Nevada Wolf Pack....
