The annual preseason battle for New York takes place in New Jersey when the Jets and Giants square off.The Giants earned bragging rights last season but the teams have alternated wins and losses for the past six seasons. The Giants have the only regular season win during that time and the team’s will go after each other in Week 13 of the regular season.... 

With a total of just 38 points scored in the four games these two teams have played between them, it's easy to think that Saturday's game between the Indianapolis Colts and the St. Louis Rams might very well be a snoozer.... 

The Cowboys haven’t had much success in the preseason lately, extending their losing skid in exhibition games to seven with two lackluster performances this year. Tony Romo is expected to play a half, which increases the possibility of Dallas handing Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer his first loss in seven preseason games.... 

The Washington Redskins starters managed just one first down on 16 plays from scrimmage last weekend in their second preseason game.Clearly, they'll have to do better than that this week to have any chance at beating the Baltimore Ravens.... 

The way Atlanta’s Matt Ryan and Miami’s Ryan Tannehill have quarterbacked this preseason the over could be reached in the first half. The teams are a combined 3-0-1 on the over and face defenses that are in a rebuild phase.... 

The Patriots enter Week 3 of the preseason in a much different place than in years past. They are likely to start the regular season without Tom Brady as their starting quarterback for the first time in 14 seasons, meaning Jimmy Garoppolo needs some work before the curtain raises in two weeks....

The Panthers look to be in trouble this season as the loss of wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to a season-ending ACL injury is a huge blow. Carolina may try to pass the ball more in this contest to get Cam Newton ready to roll for the regular season, but Newton wasn’t sharp last week and we can’t count on the Panthers being strong against the Patriots.... 

Detroit edged out Jacksonville 13-12 last preseason, though they had home field advantage in that one.The Jags will look to return the favor as they host the Lions with both teams sitting at 1-1 here in the preseason.... 

Chase Daniels is already starting to get fan support to supplant Alex Smith under center in Kansas City. The duo certainly gives the Chiefs nice depth as they take their 2-0 record into the weekend against the 1-1 Titans.... 

Go back and listen to Gus Bradley all offseason long, and you'll hear the same song and dance. He kept preaching that the Jacksonville Jaguars had fantastic depth this year unlike they have had during his tenure.We're going to find out really quick this week whether that is true when they go into battle without a number of those crucial rotational players against the Detroit Lions....

The players on the field and the coaches might really not care all that much, but you know that the New York media is just chomping at the bit to see which of the New York Jets or New York Giants look superior based on their Week 3 preseason matchup in the Meadowlands Sports Complex....
