Old School Meets New School
The Bengals go after their first 4-0 start since 2005 when they host the Chiefs on Sunday. Another promising start from Cincinnati isn’t surprising since they’ve been a beast in the regular season after Andy Dalton took over at quarterback. The Bengals will be judged on their postseason play and they’re in a good position for their fifth straight postseason appearance....
There’s no sense in putting off the inevitable for the Cleveland Browns. Veteran Josh McCown isn’t the quarterback of the future and Johnny Manziel should be. So pull the trigger already and give Johnny the football. A report of dissension in the Browns locker room over the starter will only make a bad situation even worse for Cleveland football fans....
Our cash game picks were simply fantastic last week with Cam Newton, Jamaal Charles and A.J. Green all finishing in the top four fantasy performers at their respective positions. Our GPP picks left much to be desired, but that’s going to happen from time to time when you search through the bedrock looking to score that diamond in the rough....
The Denver Broncos haven't played the prettiest games ever to get to 3-0, but being undefeated at this stage of the season generally means good things for getting into the postseason. Another stern test awaits on Sunday though, as the Minnesota Vikings bring their new-look offense to Mile High for the first time in the Teddy Bridgewater era....
A handful of days ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers would have been easy favorites on Thursday Night Football over the Baltimore Ravens. In fact, early point spreads indicated and that the men in black and gold were going to be laying around 4.5-5 points. Now that Ben Roethlisberger is out for the fold though, the Ravens are actually giving 2.5 on the road in the Steel City....
The injury bug struck again in a big time way to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week when Ben Roethlisberger suffered an MCL injury which will cost him the next 4-6 weeks.Big Ben isn't the only man with major injury concerns going into Week 4, though....
When NBC booked the New Orleans Saints and the Dallas Cowboys for Week 4, they had visions of Tony Romo throwing the ball to Dez Bryant and Drew Brees chucking darts all over the place. At least the two Dallas players won't be in the lineup in this one, and there's a decent chance that Luke McCown will be playing in place of Brees....
Timeshares. Every fantasy football player hates them when it comes to running backs, which is why it is so darn valuable to have a back like a Marshawn Lynch in your lineup on a weekly basis, whether it be on your regular fantasy team or your daily fantasy team. You hate to pick the wrong running back in a timeshare and end up being the guy who is playing a back who has four carries for 12 yards....
In your standard fantasy football league draft this year, odds have it, both Jeremy Hill and Jamaal Charles were amongst the Top 15 or so picks made. They looked like strong choices for sure, but heading into the Week 4 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs, we're not sure that there is much to compare between these two rushers....
You're not going to find any matchup from man No. 1 to man No. 53 where the San Francisco 49ers have an advantage against the Green Bay Packers. However, intangibles could give the Niners an edge in live betting in this game....
After a grueling three-game stretch to open the John Fox era in Chicago, the Bears might actually have an opponent they can compete with. Losses to Green Bay, Arizona and Seattle have the Bears as one of four winless teams in the NFL. The Raiders are feeling good after ending an 11-game road losing streak last week and could be falling into a trap with division rival Denver on the schedule next week....
The Giants avoided a fourth quarter meltdown and picked up their first win of the season last week, knocking off the Redskins. They will look to continue a recent run of success against the AFC East when they visit the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. New York is riding a six-game winning streak against the division. The Bills will try and avoid a letdown after dismantling division rival Miami last week....
The Falcons have proven to be the class of the NFC East. It’s just unfortunate that’s not their division. After wins over Philadelphia, New York and Dallas, we’ll get a chance to see how they stack up against other competition. The Falcons are 3-0 for the third time since the 1980s and they reached the NFC Championship Game the past two times. Despite being just 1-2, the Texans are in a four-way tie for first in the AFC South....
After an inconsistent start to the season, Tampa Bay’s Jameis Winston, the No. 1 pick in the 2015 draft, can get his first signature win with an upset of the unbeaten Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Winning at home is something the Buccaneers aren’t used to, having lost 10 straight at Raymond James Stadium going 2-8 ATS with the under at 3-7 during that stretch....
Is Philadelphia out of the woods after picking up its first win of the season? While it wasn’t overly impressive and the Eagles failed to score a point in the second half, they did get the monkey off their back with a win over the previously unbeaten Jets last weekend, to climb right back into the thick of a muddied up NFC East. Philly has yet to cash the over in three games, due in large part to its 31st ranked offense....
There's a point that bettors start to get comfortable with a team. Few believed that the Atlanta Falcons were more than an average team coming into this season, but three games in, especially after the way they came back against the Cowboys last week on the road, many believe this might be one of the best teams in the NFL. That said, the Houston Texans are going to try to take the Dirty Birds down a notch on Sunday, and they very well could have the perfect game plan with which to do it....
No team in the NFL has had a longer streak of games without being favored than have the Oakland Raiders. All of that comes to an end on Sunday though, as they are actually laying lumber on the road, which proves to us just how hapless the Chicago Bears have become....
Will the real Philadelphia Eagles please stand up? Chip Kelly's squad looked so darn bad for two games, but all of a sudden, they looked great last week against the previously unbeaten Jets. Now, they have a date with the Washington Redskins in what might be a crucial NFC East duel....
Getting the two teams that competed in last season’s AFC Championship Game in back-to-back weeks on the road isn’t a pleasant task for any club, let alone the rebuilding Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags failed the first test miserably, getting clocked by the Pats last weekend, and look to end a five-game losing streak to division rival Indianapolis....
The Steelers are reeling over the loss of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the Ravens are reeling over not winning a game three weeks into the season. Michael Vick will try and keep Pittsburgh above water during Big Ben’s absence and Baltimore knows that since the AFL-NFL merger, only one team has ever made the playoffs after starting 0-4....
The Dolphins were so badly booed out of Sun Life Stadium in their home-opening disaster against the Bills last week that they ended up in London to play their next game. The NFL heads across the pond for its International Series when AFC East rivals New York and Miami battle at Wembley Stadium early Sunday morning. Both teams look to regroup after uninspiring showings last week....
The Kansas City Chiefs had 10 days to game plan for the best quarterback in the NFL and are hopeful the extra time brings some positive results. The additional days also left the Chiefs stewing after failing to hold a seven-point lead in the final minute of their loss to Denver. The Packers own an impressive home field advantage with 10 consecutive wins and are 7-3 ATS in that stretch....
Much has been said about the New York Giants and the way they have nursed leads thus far in 2015. They have been up by double digits in the fourth quarter of all three of their games, but this week, they are very likely to be playing from behind somewhere along the way when they travel to Orchard Park to take on the Buffalo Bills....
It isn't often that you see a team favored which is 0-3. It's also not that often that you see a team with a losing record favored on the road in a divisional game. Then again, it's not every day that you see the Baltimore Ravens at 0-3 either. In fact, it's the first time in Ravens history that they are sporting that winless mark through three weeks, yet they are favored to notch their first 'W' when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers this Thursday....
The Oakland Raiders are 2-1, every team in the AFC South is 1-2, and the Baltimore Ravens are 0-3. That's just the type of world we're in right now in the NFL, and that makes Week 4 yet another unpredictable one ahead for bettors....
