Old School Meets New School
The Rams have been arguably the biggest surprise in the NFL this season as they sit atop the NFC West at 5-2 on the season. The Giants, meanwhile, are one of the biggest disappointments. A team that had visions of reaching the playoffs is instead sitting at just 1-6 on the season, which is one of the worst marks in the NFL.The Rams have played well all year and will be the road favorites in this one, which is something few saw coming a couple of months ago....
These teams are in a three-team race in the NFC South, and are currently both chasing the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers and Falcons are still stocked with talent and have the capability to make the postseason, but can each be inconsistent. This will be an interesting matchup and one Carolina really needs to pick up at home.Kickoff for this regular season Week 9 game is set for Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Bank of America Stadium....
The Saints will host the Buccaneers in Week 9 as they aim to put another ‘W’ in the win column. Tampa Bay is already close to being too far out of playoff contention and needs a turnaround in the worst way. The Buccaneers will look for the upset but it won’t be easy. This contest in Week 9 of the regular season will go down Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 2 p.m. ET at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome....
The Jets have been much more competitive than people thought they would be in 2017 and certainly have the capacity to win this game. However, the Bills will be the road favorites as they have found a nice groove heading into this one.The Bills have won two straight games to move to 5-2 and have the third-best point-differential in the conference so they are looking like a legitimate team midway through the season. The Jets are a respectable 3-5 heading into this one....
The Bengals will need to perform better than they did last time out, when they needed a late touchdown to narrowly knock off the Colts. The Jaguars are a much more talented foe and hope to grab a win as they push for the division title in the AFC South.Jacksonville has the look of a playoff contenders, and Cincinnati needs a key road win like this to get back into that conversation.Kickoff for this regular season Week 9 game is set for Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 2 p.m. ET at EverBank Field....
Detroit is at home but Pittsburgh is one of the best teams in the NFL. The Lions hope to catch the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings in subsequent weeks and this would be a huge win to get. The Steelers, meanwhile, are pushing for a top seed in the AFC playoffs and would love to pick up a quality road win in this one.Watch this regular season Week 8 matchup live on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. ET at Ford Field....
The Dallas Cowboys scuffled early this season but turned it on in a big way in a rout of the 49ers last time out. They hope to continue making a move up the standings in a matchup against divisional foe the Washington Redskins in Week 8. Dallas entered the season as the NFC East favorites but it is the Eagles not only looking like the class of the division but one of the best teams in the NFL.The Cowboys and Redskins are both 3-3 on the season and seem to have enough talent to push for a wild card berth if they can’t catch Philadelphia. That’s why this game is so critical and it should be competitive as the talent level is close....
The Chiefs can stay a step ahead of everybody else in the AFC West with a win, but if Denver manages to pull the upset then all four teams -- the Raiders and Chargers are the others -- will be within shouting distance of the others.Kansas City lost a heartbreaker to Oakland last time out and will aim to right the ship in a game in which it will be a strong favorite....
Seattle is in a fight with the surprising Los Angeles Rams for NFC West supremacy while the Texans are in the middle of a muddled picture in the AFC South. This is a pivotal game for both teams’ playoff hopes, and while Seattle is the favorite, the Texans have what it takes to remain competitive and possibly pull the upset.Watch this regular season Week 8 matchup live on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 1:05 p.m. ET at CenturyLink Field....
The Bucs were hoping to take a leap to playoff contender this season but have not looked good through their first six games. Tampa Bay is a slight favorite at home in this one and will be in dire straits if it loses again. Carolina has unsurprisingly been inconsistent this season and certainly has the capacity to win this game if it plays well, but it’s hard to know what Panthers team is going to show up.Watch this regular season Week 8 matchup live on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Raymond James Stadium....
The Falcons have the same personnel on offense as last year’s record-setting unit, but it hasn’t clicked as well without offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, who is now the coach of the San Francisco 49ers. Atlanta has a chance to get rolling in this game against a Jets defense that has talent but is vulnerable to giving up big plays. The Jets would prefer not to get into a shootout in this matchup since the Falcons have the better passing game....
The Bears have also exceeded expectations in the earlygoing with a 3-4 record. The loss of Aaron Rodgers has made the Packers much less formidable in the NFC North, although Chicago still figures to be an afterthought in the division. However, Mitchell Trubisky has reinvigorated this team and the Bears would love to get to .500 by pulling out the upset win.Watch this regular season Week 8 matchup live on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome....
The Eagles are at home and looking really impressive, while the 49ers are among the worst teams in the NFL. Philadelphia is a substantial favorite and wants to wrap this one up early and cruise. San Francisco has stayed close in the vast majority of its games despite a winless record but is going to have a tough time keeping this margin under double digits.Watch this regular season Week 8 matchup live on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field....
The London games have been ripe for blowouts, and if Minnesota is the team more ready to play, this one will be ugly. However, the Browns would love to grab their first win of the season overseas. If Cleveland starts fast it could have a shot, but if the Vikings get ahead this one could be over quickly. The NFC North is wide open after Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers was lost for possibly the season with a collarbone injury. Minnesota has quarterback injury issues of its own but still has the talent to make a run at the division title and the playoffs. This is the type of game it can’t afford to blow....
The Buffalo Bills are making their push for the playoffs, too, so this is a pivotal AFC clash in Week 8. Buffalo is 4-2 on the season and only a half-game behind the Patriots in the AFC East. Both offenses can score the ball, so don’t be surprised to see a fair share of points put up in this one.Oakland is in a tough division and another win would keep it in the mix, but the defense has to step up....
The Dolphins lost by a combined score of 40-6 to the Jets and Saints in consecutive weeks early on but then bounced back with a road upset of defending NFC champion Atlanta in Week 6 before squeaking past the Jets on Sunday. The Ravens have beaten the Bengals and Raiders by double-digit points but have also fallen to Jaguars by 37 and the Steelers by 17.It’s hard to know how this one is going to end up, but the Ravens have the home field advantage and seem to be the more talented team, so they should be the favorite in this showdown....
Indianapolis’ season may be officially sunk if it loses this one, so the team should come out with a lot of purpose, but it may not be enough. Cincinnati isn’t a great team but it is the more talented one in this matchup and it will aim to get out to a quick start in order to extinguish any hopes the Colts may have of pulling the upset.Watch this regular season Week 8 matchup live on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Paul Brown Stadium....
It hasn’t been the smoothest start for New England, most notably its defense, but it still leads the AFC East and will aim to put together an easy win at home against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7. The Patriots are the defending Super Bowl champions and are coming off a nice win over the Atlanta Falcons in that title game rematch in Week 7.The Chargers are better than their record suggests but will still be heavy underdogs in this matchup. If Los Angeles has any hope of making a push for the postseason, it will need to pull some upsets along the way, and this one would be a great start. However, it’s not going to be very easy against a Patriots team which will likely sooner or later begin to find its groove....
Quietly, the Washington Redskins have been one of the most underrated teams in the NFL. Washington is sitting at 3-2, but its two losses have been to the only two one-loss teams left. They have looked sharp in wins over the Rams and the Raiders, and did enough to win against a game 49ers team last week. This week, they will face one of the one-loss teams that previously beat them, the Philadelphia Eagles, and look to exact a small bit of revenge. This contest in Week 7 of the regular season will go down Monday, October 23, 2017, at 8:30 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The game will be broadcast on ESPN....
The Atlanta Falcons have heard 28-3 all offseason. Atlanta seemed destined to win its first Super Bowl ever last year, and was up big on the New England Patriots in the third quarter. That’s when Tom Brady took over. Brady led a miracle comeback that cemented his legacy as the best quarterback to ever play the game in a thrilling, come from behind victory that left Falcons fans in tears and bettors angrily ripping up their tickets. Getting a win here would be a small victory for Atlanta, but it will never erase the pain from losing out on its first ever title. This contest in Week 7 of the regular season will go down Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 8:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The game will be broadcast on NBC....
The Tennessee Titans are in a logjam with every other team in the AFC South. There is currently a three-way tie at 3-3 in the division, with the Indianapolis Colts right behind at 2-4. Now that Marcus Mariota is back, the Titans are looking to start to put some ground between themselves and their division rivals and make the postseason for the first time since 2008. They will be a popular pick when they take on the winless Cleveland Browns on Sunday. This contest in Week 7 of the regular season will go down Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. The game will be broadcast on CBS....
The Seattle Seahawks are off to their traditional sluggish start. Seattle is 3-2 with road losses to the Titans and Packers, and just barely squeaked by San Francisco and the Los Angeles Rams earlier this year. Now Pete Carroll’s boys must avoid a letdown against a New York Giants squad that is looking feisty all of a sudden. New York turned a lot of heads with its surprise win over Denver on Sunday night, and the defense looked solid for the first time all year. This contest in Week 7 of the regular season will go down Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 4:25 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The game will be broadcast on CBS....
The Jacksonville Jaguars have alternated wins and losses all season long and that has led to some interesting results. Jacksonville hammered Houston, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh away from home by 20 points each, but got crushed at home by Tennessee and the LA Rams. The only close game the Jags played was back in Week 4 when they lost by a field goal to the New York Jets. This week they are coming off of a loss and playing on the road, so if the pattern holds they are looking good heading into their game against the Indianapolis Colts. This contest in Week 7 of the regular season will go down Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The game will be broadcast on CBS....
Prepare to be invaded LA. Home games have been anything but for the Los Angeles Chargers now that they have left San Diego. They are playing in a 30,000 seat soccer stadium in a city that didn’t really want them in the first place and have failed to draw any significant interest. In their last home game, Eagles fans outnumbered Chargers fans and the game felt like it was being played in West Philadelphia. The Denver Broncos are sure to bring a lot of fans to the City of Angels this week in another game that may as well be played in a smaller version of Mile High. This contest in Week 7 of the regular season will go down Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 4:25 p.m. ET at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The game will be broadcast on CBS....
Adrian Peterson and Todd Gurley get the spotlight in London on Sunday, as the Arizona Cardinals play the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7 on FOX. While this is a game in London, it does not have the early morning start time, as it will start at 1 p.m. Eastern along with all of the other early afternoon games in Week 7. The Cardinals come into this game at 3-3 and looking much better now that they have Peterson, while the Rams lead the NFC West at 4-2....
