Presidential Election Betting: Republican Donald Trump has regained favorite status to beat Democrat Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Trump began the week as a small favorite after being the underdog for the past few weeks. Some observers will attribute the change to JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, turning in a strong debate performance. Others will say with disgust that President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris have totally botched hurricane relief efforts in the southeast. In fact, the Biden-Harris effort was no effort at all and considered worse than when President George W Bush fumbled on Hurricane Katrina.

But there is another fascinating theory as to why Trump is chalk. On the Monday edition of The Steve Deace Show, host Steve Deace said that he has a gambling market insider who voiced the theory that wagering syndicates are betting up Donald Trump now only to eventually come back and take Harris later at a discount price.

The polls remain relatively even, although Trump has never polled as well in his previous presidential runs. But with 2020 being a dirty election and the Democrats' well-deserved reputation for skullduggery, along with their militant opposition to voter integrity laws, and with a corrupt media serving as publicists for the Democrats, nobody can trust anything. Thus, the syndicates playing games with the election betting markets, as they often will do in sports, is entirely possible.

Vance Beclowns Walz

Kamala Harris’ running mate, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, is the only type of white guy progressives will tolerate. Walz, like Biden did for President Barack Obama, is the designated white guy. And like Biden, Walz is a goofball, a self-described knucklehead, and better suited to play the typical white male idiot fall guy on TV commercials. In fact, at last week’s Vice-Presidential debate, Walz literally called himself a “knucklehead” and said he was friends with school shooters. The performance of Walz was a debacle so bad that left wing commentators went out of their way to say that Vice Presidents don’t mean anything and that the debate would not matter. Yet the polls say otherwise.

JD Vance gave a debate masterclass that had plenty of voters and conservatives saying, “Why can’t Trump do that.” Vance was polished with a command performance of the facts and made his presentation with a demeanor meant to attract wobbly affluent suburban voter squish, who can’t stomach Trump’s bombast. Vance was prepared and friendly, coming off as a good sport, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Despite the protests of the left wing spin machine, the polls moved to the Trump-Vance ticket after the debate.

A Hurricane of Failure and Blatant Disrespect

Hurricane Helene has again exposed the Biden-Harris administration as arrogant, out of touch, and utterly uncaring. When the hurricane hit, Biden was vacationing on the beach in Delaware, and Harris was hanging out in Hollywood with her celebrity millionaires, raising money. At the same time, Trump rushed to multiple locations, making personal donations, raising money, and connecting with victims and voters.

There is the theory that Biden-Harris is punishing the states hit by Helene for being Republican. It would surprise nobody if that were the case. But regardless, the lack of care and empathy was a bad tell, and no doubt contributed to the polls leaning back toward Trump.

The Ultimate Question Remains Unanswered

A generation ago, the radical leftist Harris would have been down 20 points in the polls and had no chance of winning. Yet she is in a tie with Trump. Why?
