Presidential Election Betting: After a rough August, Donald Trump has come out swinging with hard-hitting ads that attack Kamala Harris, where she is most vulnerable, the border, crime, and the economy. Despite a one-week propaganda fest at the Democrat National Convention, Harris failed to get the traditional bounce in the polls. And in the aftermath of the DNC lovefest, she has begun to lose ground. As many veteran politicos have said, a little of Kamala Harris goes a long way. As evidenced in the 2020 Democrat primary season, Harris flamed out fast after exploding out of the gate. She has no staying power. Meanwhile, after saving his money and energy for the fall campaign, Trump is blitzing the airwaves with relentless and effective attack ads. Gamblers have taken notice, as Trump is now a marginal favorite to win the election after several weeks as an underdog.

Where Has Harris Been for Four Years?
Kamala Harris is also running ads. But the commercials are cotton candy platitudes about the “middle class” with absurd pledges to fix the economy, make things affordable, and secure the border. The problem is that Vice President Harris has been an integral part of an administration that has done none of those things. Thus, it is fair for voters to wonder and ask, “Why now”? Where was this commitment when the border was being overrun and prices were skyrocketing?

Nobody Dancing to Walz
The late great Richard Nixon often said that when he ran for president (winning twice, losing once) he wished he could have run alone. Nixon said that his goal was to pick a running mate who would not hurt him.
In his 1960 loss to John F. Kennedy, Nixon picked the soft patrician Henry Cabot Lodge. UN Ambassador Lodge was not a fighter and would take afternoon naps in his pajamas during the campaign. He came from JFK's home state of Massachusetts, thus adding nothing to the ticket. Nixon/Lodge went down to defeat in a close election that a better vice-presidential running mate may have changed. In fact, JFK’s selection of Lyndon Johnson provided the difference in Texas and other states for the win.
In 1968 and 1972, Nixon went with Spiro Agnew, who became famous as governor of Maryland. President Lyndon Johnson admitted that Agnew clinched the border states of the South that were the difference in a close 1968 campaign. Then Nixon and Agnew won a landslide for the ages in 1972.
Kamala Harris picked a lying clown in Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. First, a Democrat can’t lose Minnesota if she or he tried. Additionally, Walz is the only type of white guy that Democrats like. He is the prototypical buffoon you see in commercials during football games. Walz has been outed by multiple sources, including his unit, for lying about his war record, or lack thereof.
Harris may get away with picking Walz, who is perhaps the only candidate that makes Harris look better in comparison. But the fact that Walz is worthless, if not a liability, has many Democrat leaders increasingly concerned. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro would have been a much more effective selection. But Shapiro is aggressive and very ambitious, which would threaten the noticeably insecure Harris.
Devastating Trump Ads
Donald Trump’s campaign and outside conservative groups are demolishing Harris over her disgraceful record of looking the other way during border invasions and setting criminal illegal aliens free to kill innocent citizens. Another ad shows a “debate” between Harris and Harris regarding her failures and flip-flops on the economy. The ads also point out that Harris added further damage to key issues as the vice president, thus making her promises and platitudes worthless.
