Trump Signs Record Bill as Cuomo Emerges

It took a little longer than it should have because of Democrat shamelessness and shenanigans but President Donald Trump signed the biggest bill in the history of the United States on Friday. Immediate COVID-19 relief will have a $2 Trillion price tag while related business loans added to the bill actually increase the total dollar amount to $6 Trillion. The President joked about having never signed anything for a Trillion but did so to the great relief and appreciation of a battered nation.

Meanwhile New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has emerged as the one state leader that has impressed the left wing American “news” media the most. New York is the state most ravaged by COVID-19 and although Cuomo blew off several previous warnings through the years that the state was unprepared for a pandemic, he has impressed with his daily press conferences and candor.

Cuomo has also been civil to Trump, which has set himself apart from several petty Democrat Governors looking to score cheap political points. In fact, Cuomo is gaining attention and support from some Democrats wanting to overthrow the faltering flubbing presumptive nominee Joe Biden.

President Trump is coming off his best week as President and has record high approval numbers to show for it. Cuomo’s poll numbers have also gone up as has favorable media coverage. As for Biden, he has become a caricature of himself. And the alarmed Democrat Party has taken notice.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi enraged an entire nation when the COVID-19 relief bill was ready after intense bipartisan negotiation. But just as the final vote was about to be taken, she flew in from vacation, during the COVID-19 crisis it should be added, and stalled the process with a hard-left agenda wish list of demands. Trump laughed at the list and vowed there was no way he would sign such an absurdity. Pelosi caved and got a few minor items of no real note to her hard-left donor base.

On balance the relief bill, again the biggest in history, was all done within a week, which was being touted as “Trump Time.” It was a remarkable performance that not even the great Franklin Delano Roosevelt could match.

The Biden Cuomo Democrat Dilemma

Governor Cuomo has performed so well during the COVID-19 crisis in the eyes of Democrats that there is now some noise being made about kicking Biden to the curb in favor of Cuomo. And its easy to understand why.

Whereas Cuomo is able to hold daily high pressure press briefing updates about the status of his state and relief efforts, Biden can’t even speak in clear sentences. He was humiliated in his makeshift TV studio that was built on the fly in his basement. The only thing worse than the technical difficulties was his inability to remain lucid and get through the presentation smoothly. In fact, last Wednesday they had to shut it down.

Some Democrats and celebrities have gone out in the open saying that Cuomo should get the nomination over Biden. Others have said that Trump will destroy the feeble Biden in the campaign, especially at debate time.

Cuomo has a very mixed record as New York Governor and was under water in polls there before the COVID-19 crisis gave him the opportunity to shine. But momentum for him could build very quickly in a party obsessed with taking out Trump.
