Trump Survives Another Assassination Attempt

U.S. Presidential News for Monday, September 16, 2024

Presidential Election Betting: Former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump faced a second assassination attempt within the past two months on Sunday at his Florida golf course. The suspect was taken into custody, and Trump was not harmed. Unsurprisingly, the “news” media tried to blame Trump for making “baseless” statements about the trouble that Springfield, OH, is having after 20,000 Haitian immigrants were dumped upon the town of 60,000, despite videos of the residents complaining to local elected officials and law enforcement officers.

Also, on Sunday, Trump posted on his Truth Social account in all caps, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” The post was emblematic of what voters love and hate about Trump.

All in all, it was just another day at the office for the most controversial politician in American history.

Kamala Harris begins the week as the small betting favorite to beat Trump. But that was before gamblers could digest the assassination attempt, biased media coverage, and Trump’s one-finger salute to the Swifties.

After facing down another attempt by a wood-be assassin, Trump’s post about Taylor Swift will NOT necessarily turn off all voters. Swift is not loved by all Americans, in particular conservatives. In all likelihood, committed voters will not change their minds over Trump’s post.

The problem Trump will have is with affluent suburban white women and their emasculated husbands. Trump is repeating his fatal flaw of not being able to control himself. While millions of voters likely cheered Trump’s avowed hatred of Swift, those who can afford to worry about his manners and etiquette will be turned off. Too many times, Trump has added to his burdens with such behavior that many applaud, but probably more voters can’t stomach.

Debate Fallout Continues

The rapid, immediate reaction to last week’s debate was that Trump lost in a blowout. But as the week dragged on, the avalanche of pro-Harris media propaganda and the unfairness of the three vs. one debate format worked in Trump’s favor. It is now safe to conclude that the debate had little impact on the polls or betting markets, certainly not in the massive wave that was predicted by the left-wing media.

The debate proved the theory that Kamala Harris is vapid and empty beneath the cackling surface. When asked if the American people are better off than they were four years ago, Harris gave a strange, vague answer about growing up in a middle-class family while doing nothing about addressing voters' concerns.

Trump also scored debate points that will last regarding Harris's major role in the current Biden administration and the pain it has caused American families.

Is Price Still Truth?

As the week begins, voters and gamblers must ask if the truth even matters. There were 20,000 once-illegal immigrants later legalized by fiat by the Harris-Biden administration dumped on a town of 60,000 (Springfield, OH), which any honest person could correctly say has disrupted the town. But to speak that truth is to have the media and Democrats, there, I repeat myself, call such honest assessments racist.

Then there are the trips to the checkout line, gas pumps, and the bills opening. For ordinary Americans, their eyes continue to pop out. Difficult choices are being made with family budgets. Yet with all of that and more, the race is a dead heat.

How is that possible?

Can Americans really afford to not get over their disgust with Trump's antics and add four more years of enhanced suffering, border invasion, etc.?
