It wasn’t an easy path to the Europa League Final for Rangers. They failed to make it out of early qualifying for the Champions League with two losses to Malmo, and they had to hold on for a win over Armenian side FC Alashkert to make the Europa League. They defeated Real Betis in added time in their first match and then knocked out favorites Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate in the quarterfinals. The club was very strong against West Ham United in the semifinals, and that run has led to Eintracht Frankfurt being close to an odds-on favorite to win this match by the three-way betting odds.
The leading goal scorer in this competition has been Rangers right back James Tavernier. He is the captain of the club, and he has put the squad upon his back throughout this Europa League.
