UFC Fight Night: Tybura vs. Spivac II Betting

Marcin Tybura (25-8, 12-7 UFC)

Tybura came into the UFC with a record of 13-1 and he has 12 wins and seven losses in the UFC. In his last six fights, he has four wins and two losses. He defeated Walt Harris by TKO, Alexander Romanov by majority decision, Blagoy Ivanov by unanimous decision, and Tai Tuivasa by technical submission; while losing to Alexander Volkov by unanimous decision and Tom Aspinall by TKO. Tybura has been a pro since 2011 and he has nine wins by TKO/KO and seven by submission. He has 11 first round finishes.

Tybura said this to MMA Unhinged about his upcoming fight against Spivac, “What I can do different in this rematch I actually feel like you know that Sergey has gained some weight I can tell and I probably he's much more stronger which always which you know gives him much more opportunities in the game plan that he brings to the fight which I think is more like a more grappling and wrestling so he will be much more dangerous in this area but I think I improved more in a in a standup in a striking kicking so that might be a different thing for me in this fight so when you know I just feel like for this fight I might go more with the a stand up”

UFC Picks

Father time should be catching up with Tybura, as he is 39-years old, but he is still fighting at a high level, winning 8 of his last 10 bouts. Spivac was rolling along having won three straight until running into Ciryl Gane last September. Spivac has not fought since losing that fight by TKO. Spivac is listed as the favorite in this fight, but I really don’t know why. Tybura beat him last time and perhaps Spivac is a little better now than he was four years ago, but he still shouldn’t be favored. I lean toward Tybura simply because of the price in a fight that looks very even.

I am somewhat surprised at the rounds price. These two went the distance in their first fight and I am not that impressed with either fighter’s finishing ability. This one could easily go the distance again. I like going over 2.5 rounds at -160 as the top play in this fight.
