UFC Picks
We get the classic veteran vs. unbeaten prospect in this one and it is Morales who is listed as a huge favorite. UFC odds have him more than an 8-1 favorite in this fight against Magny. Morales has obviously done nothing wrong in his career, as he is unbeaten, but he hasn’t faced anyone of note yet. And you can make a case that he still isn’t fighting anyone of note, as Magny is well past his prime. Morales is known for his aggressive style and knockout power, so this fight may not last long. Morales has all of the technical edges in terms of striking and he also has a solid ground game.
Magny is an experienced fighter, but he has lost 11 times in his career. He has been known as a fighter who is tough to finish but the problem for Magny is that his best days are behind him. He has alternated wins and losses in his last eight fights and he is coming off a win, so if the pattern holds, he will lose this fight. Magny has not proven he can handle a powerful striker and although it is early in his career, Morales looks like a powerful striker.
There is not much doubt that Morales should win this fight, but the price is simply insanely high. I don’t lay big prices in UFC betting and I am sure not laying 8-1 in UFC betting odds on Morales. I also want no part of taking Magny. That leaves us with the rounds or the props. I know that Magny is a tough fighter but if the oddsmakers are correct, and they usually are, then Morales is going to win this fight and win it easily. If that is the case then the best option in this fight is to take the rounds to go under the total.
