NCAA Football Betting Online: The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are coming off a nice season in which they made it to a bowl game for the first time in eight years. With plenty of key players coming back, the group hopes to make a repeat run at a postseason contest.
However, the oddsmakers are more pessimistic, believing the Rainbow Warriors are going to be taking a step back this season. Hawaii will aim to surpass those projections and remain competitive in the Mountain West Conference.

Hawaii Odds To Win The Mountain West: +1200
Hawaii Regular Season Win Total: 4
Hawaii went 7-7 overall a year ago and 4-4 in conference, but it was outscored by an average of nine points per game, which means the Rainbow Warriors were extremely fortunate to finish the season .500. They will need to improve to have a chance at repeating that feat.

The concern is the defense, which gave up 37.3 points per game last season and loses some standouts. If the Warriors can’t stop anyone, it won’t matter how well they are playing on offense.
Hawaii could have a good feeling about which way its season will go early on, as they face off against UCLA, Wyoming and Colorado State in three consecutive games in September. If the Warriors are blown out in all of them, it will portend bad things ahead.

While Hawaii was happy to not finish below .500 again, unfortunately the wins aren’t likely to keep coming. There is good reason why the oddsmakers think the team is in for a decline. The win total is pretty low, and the Warriors may be able to pass it with a strong showing in conference play.
Hawaii did really well in close games a season ago and won’t be able to count on that repeating again this season. A bowl game seems like a tall order in 2017.
