The ACC schedule has been a tough one for both the Miami Hurricanes and the Virginia Cavaliers. In Week 11, these two teams square off with the Hurricanes hoping for their second straight victory while the Cavaliers aim to snap a losing skid with a win at home. If successful, it’ll be the fifth straight year the home team won the showdown between these two programs....
If anyone is going to spoil Western Michigan’s trip to the MAC Title Game, it will be the Toledo Rockets. Toledo has one of the top quarterbacks in the country in Logan Woodside and has looked absolutely unstoppable on offense for much of the season. In Week 11 college football action, that unstoppable offense will travel to a neutral site game in the White Sox’ stadium to face the Northern Illinois Huskies....
Last week, we started our introduction by mentioning that 12 of the Top 25 teams in America were playing on the road and that someone was going to get picked off. That someone was Texas A&M, ending its National Championship dreams. Will more hopes be shattered in Week 11 now that there is almost a clear path for a two-loss team to potentially sneak into this field should any of the Top 4 drop an unexpected game between now and the first Saturday of December?...
Terry Bowden’s Akron Zips are one win away from what would be their third ever bowl bid. The Zips have failed to get the requisite win in each of the last two weeks and now must defeat the 1-8 Bowling Green Falcons in Week 11 College Football to get to six wins. Otherwise the Zips will have to defeat the division-leading Ohio Bobcats in their last game of the season in order to get bowl eligible. Bowling Green may be 1-8, but has improved week-to-week and the task will be a tough one....
The Texas Longhorns recorded its first road win with a victory over Texas Tech this past Saturday and will return home for its Week 11 showdown with the West Virginia Mountaineers where they’re undefeated to this point. At 7-1, the Mountaineers rank No. 11 according to the AP and provide a real threat to Texas’ ability to remain undefeated at home....
The Baylor Bears desperately need a win after dropping each of their last two games. Despite the recent losses, Baylor still enters Week 11 action as a ranked team, but they’ll take on a tough opponent while on the road, facing an Oklahoma Sooners team that’s won six straight and beat the Bears when these two teams met last season when these two teams squared off at McLane Stadium....
It’s been eight years since the Texas Tech Red Raiders have managed to beat the Oklahoma State Cowboys. They’ll try to stop the streak from reaching nine here in Week 11, but they’ll need quite an upset to accomplish that feat as the Cowboys have won five straight, taking down better teams than the Red Raiders....
The Nebraska Cornhuskers have just two losses this season, but they’ve come in successive weeks as the Huskers’ mistakes are catching up to them. Nebraska will look to turn their season around with a return home to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Week 11. Minnesota isn’t a ranked team, but the Gophers won’t be a picnic for Nebraska. They’ve won four straight and two of the last three head-to-head against the Huskers....
Can the MAC put a team in a team in a major bowl game for the first time since 2012? The No. 14 Western Michigan Broncos are looking to do just that and are three regular season wins away from an undefeated campaign. Western Michigan has already knocked off two Big 10 teams and hasn’t been tested in conference play yet, defeating all opponents by at least two touchdowns. In College Football Week 11, they will take on the Kent State Golden Flashes....
The Eastern Michigan Eagles are just one win away from their first bowl game appearance in almost three decades. That win has been increasingly harder to come by though. Eastern Michigan started the season 5-2, but back-to-back losses to Western Michigan and Miami (OH) have brought the Eagles to a 5-4 mark and uncertainty over whether they can get the last win they need. They will try to stamp their ticket to a bowl on Tuesday when they take on the Ball State Cardinals in College Football Week 11 action....
The Big Ten conference continues to heat up as we head down the final stretch of the season. Michigan is in control of their own destiny, if they win out they will win the title and represent the conference in the BCS Playoffs, but they have to beat arch rival Ohio State and get by Iowa on the road. Penn State also has a chance with help from the Buckeyes, who they beat and own the tiebreaker over. A total of seven or eight teams will see bowl action and possibly two teams could actually represent the conference in the BCS. This week two games stand out. Nebraska meets the Buckeyes at the Horseshoe and Wisconsin travels to Evanston to face northwestern in a game that may decide the Big Ten West....
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Navy Midshipmen will journey to Jacksonville in a Week 10 showdown. The Irish lead the series against Navy by a landslide, 76-12-1, but Navy has at least covered the spread in two of the last three years. Nevertheless, Notre Dame took advantage of a number of turnovers to capture the win last season, but the Midshipmen have done a pretty good job holding onto the ball here in 2016....
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have had a nice little run, winning five straight after a disappointing 1-3 start. The Bulldogs have done well beating up on the lesser teams and look forward to doing just that against the North Texas Mean Green here in Week 10. North Texas will get to play at home, but Louisiana Tech is 4-1 ATS on the road and that includes massive victories over Massachusetts and Florida International this month....
The Commander-in-Chief’s trophy could be up for grabs on Saturday as the Air Force Falcons face-off against the Army Black Knights in Week 10 action. An Air Force win clinches the trophy for the Falcons, but a loss could leave the door open for the Knights to take the title for the first time in 20-years, though that would require a win over Navy later this year....
It’s no surprise that the Alabama Crimson Tide opened with the top spot in the first unveiling of the College Football Playoff Rankings. Alabama looks like the best team in the country and will aim to remain that way in a tough road game against the No. 13 LSU Tigers....
The Auburn Tigers shook off an early-season lull and have won five straight games heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Auburn is a big favorite to take care of business in this home game, and may be able to move into the top-10 of the national rankings with a victory....
The SEC East has been pretty unpredictable this season, but one team that’s lived up to its potential has been the Florida Gators. They sit in first place in the conference and will aim to stay there with a tough road win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in Week 10 of the college football season....
In what’s likely the most intriguing matchup of the Week 10 schedule, the Nebraska Cornhuskers journey to Ohio to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in a battle of top-10 teams. Both of these teams are 7-1, but not playing up to potential. They’re each in need of a big win to help their stock, each pushing for playoff consideration....
With one more win the Central Michigan Chippewas will be bowl eligible this season. It’s been a solid year for the Chips who scored what may have been the conference’s biggest win when they knocked off Oklahoma State in September. Central Michigan has had a tougher time in conference play with just a 2-3 mark though. In College Football Week 10, the Chips will look to move to .500 in the MAC with a win over the Miami (OH) Redhawks....
The Maryland Terrapins are set up as the next victims for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan will host Maryland in Week 10 looking to keep their undefeated season alive. A win seems all but a certainty, but a win against the spread is a different case. The Wolverines have failed to cover the spread in back-to-back games and three of their last four outings....
Just a week after pushing Ohio State to the final minutes in a narrow 24-20 loss, the Northwestern Wildcats will have another chance against a top-10 team as they square off against the Wisconsin Badgers in Week 10. The Badgers themselves lost to Ohio State by more than the Wildcats, but to Wisconsin’s credit that game was at Ohio State and they did take the Buckeyes into overtime....
Matt Rhule has been one of the most underrated coaches in the country over the last couple seasons. His Temple Owls are in the driver’s seat in the AAC East, but have to win their last three games in order to make the conference title game. The good news is that they should be favored in each of their last three. Temple will start their stretch run when it travels to Storrs to take on the Connecticut Huskies in Week 10 college football....
The Boise State Broncos were the leading candidate to obtain the Group of Five spot for a New Year’s Day Bowl before last week. Then, a loss to Wyoming threw those chances for a spin as well as their chances to win the Mountain West. In College Football Week 10, Boise will face off against a team that is having an awful year in their side of the conference in the San Jose State Spartans....
The Arkansas State Red Wolves have won 12 straight Sun Belt games dating back to 2014 and are one of three teams currently undefeated in the conference. However, that hasn’t led to much respect from Vegas as the Red Wolves are just three point favorites in College Football Week 10 action against the Georgia State Panthers. Both of these teams desperately need a win if they want to remain in a spot to be able to win the Sun Belt championship....
Injury could put a damper on what should have been a fun rivalry game in the Lone Star State. The Texas Tech Red Raiders are at home to host the Texas Longhorns in Week 10 and will be trying to win back-to-back years over Texas after snapping the Longhorns’ six year winning streak a season ago. The last time the Red Raider topped the Longhorns in back-to-back years was 1997 and 1998....
