The Utah Utes are nationally ranked and sitting atop the Pac-12 South, but are staring at a Week 8 matchup that will test them. The UCLA Bruins don’t have a sterling record but there is talent within their group, and this one could be a key showdown.... 

The Colorado Buffaloes haven’t had a winning season since 2005, but look like something much different this year. Colorado has started the season 5-2 and sits in a tie atop the Pac-12 South after blowing out Arizona State last week.... 

The Washington Huskies have ascended to the top of the Pac-12 and are making a case for their spot in the College Football Playoff. After a pair of back-to-back statement wins over Stanford and Oregon, the Huskies get a reprieve in Week 8 with a matchup against the Oregon State Beavers.... 

The Alabama Crimson Tide demolished a top-10 team last week in a game against Tennessee, and now turns around to face another one in Week 8. Alabama has looked like the best team in the country throughout the year and will get another step closer to the College Football Playoff with a win.... 

Two losses in their first four games pushed the LSU Tigers out of the College Football Playoff picture and cost Les Miles his job. The team has since won a pair of games and hopes to keep the turnaround going in a Week 8 matchup with the Ole Miss Rebels.... 

The Houston Cougars are still hoping to vault back into the College Football Playoff conversation, but know they have to be perfect the rest of the way and win games in style. A loss at Navy severely hurt Houston’s shot at a national title, and its small-conference schedule makes it tough to get back in the conversation.... 

The Texas Longhorns and Kansas State Wildcats don’t have much chance of getting back into Big 12 contention, so instead their focus should be on securing the most prestigious bowl game possible.... 

Two of the most explosive offenses in college football will meet up in what should be a highly entertaining showdown in Week 8 of the regular season. The Oklahoma Sooners will aim to remain undefeated in the Big 12 when they hit the road to face off against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.... 

The West Virginia Mountaineers have been one of the pleasant surprises of the college football season, starting 5-0 and moving up within the top-15 in the national polls. They are suddenly a legitimate College Football Playoff contender if they can keep this up the rest of the way, although it won’t be easy.... 

After impressive starts, the Virginia Tech Hokies and Miami Hurricanes each took a step back last time out. The ACC Coastal conference is still up for grabs, so this Week 8 matchup between them is pivotal for both sides.... 

The Boise State Broncos have long been one of the most dominant small-conference teams in the country, and this year is no exception. They are 6-0 on the season with a pair of wins over Pac-12 foes, but will get one of their tougher tests of the season against the BYU Cougars in Week 8.... 

The South Florida Bulls have used a dominant ground game to roll to an undefeated start in the American Conference. They will aim to keep it going in a tough matchup on the road against the Temple Owls in Week 8.... 

It’s all falling apart for the Oregon Ducks. Once one of the model programs in the entire country, it has been a tough season in Eugene. Oregon has lost four straight and is winless in three tries in the Pac-12 conference. The Ducks were embarrassed at home by 49 points by Washington last time out and hopes to end the spiral on the road in Week 8 against the California Bears.... 

You think the SEC West has done a few things right this year? Six of the seven teams in this division are ranked, and now, we're going to see three matchups that are Top 25 battles between these teams. On a week where so many of the top teams in the land are either off or playing against lesser teams, all eyes are going to be on the best conference in America, but don't think for one second that these are the only potentially interesting games across the nation.... 

We roll into week 7 in the Big 10 Conference with four teams ranked in the Top 10, led by Ohio State at No. 2 and Michigan at No. 4. Despite one loss, Wisconsin is ranked No. 9 and undefeated Nebraska comes in at No. 10. Penn State, Maryland and Iowa are all lurking just outside the Top 25. Wisconsin has a huge opportunity this week when they host the No. 2 ranked Buckeyes in what is the biggest game to date in the Big 10 Conference. Even with home turf, the Badgers are catching 10.5 points and the public are laying the points.... 

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been one of the most impressive college football teams in the country in 2016, winning their first five games all by 21 points or more. They are on the march to the College Football Playoff, but still have some tough games remaining.... 

The Miami Hurricanes suffered one of the toughest ways to lose a game last week, as a blocked extra point spelled doom in a 20-19 defeat to Florida State. It was Miami’s first loss of the season, and it will aim to bounce back without any lasting damage in Week 7 against the North Carolina Tar Heels.... 

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have climbed into the top 10 of the national rankings and are one of the final undefeated teams remaining. They will aim to keep it that way, but might not be as big of favorites as expected in a Week 7 contest against the Indiana Hoosiers.... 

The Michigan State Spartans’ horrific slide continued last week in a blowout home loss to Brigham Young. Michigan State hopes to get back on track and pick up its first Big Ten victory in a home game against the Northwestern Wildcats in Week 7.... 

Two of college football’s most decorated programs are set to face off, but the season hasn’t gone as planned for either of them. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will host the Stanford Cardinal in a game that was supposed to be huge but now features two reeling teams.... 

Could the Idaho Vandals make it to a bowl game in their penultimate season at the FBS level? Idaho has been one of the biggest victims of being conference realignment, trying to find a home after the WAC disbanded, but after a few years in the Sun Belt, the school will move down to join the Big Sky Conference at the FCS level in 2018. In College Football Week 7, they will be facing the other team that joined them in the Sun Belt that is now being asked to leave due to travel costs, the New Mexico State Aggies.Kickoff for this Week 7 game is set for Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 5 p.m. ET at the ASUI-Kibbie Dome This game will be broadcast on ESPN3.... 

There were major questions about the Ohio Bobcats after a 56-54 loss to 17-point underdog Texas State to start the season. Since then though, the Bobcats have been extremely impressive winning four of their last five with the one loss being a single-digit defeat against Tennessee. Their opponent for Week 7 College Football will be a team that is trying to get to its first bowl game in almost three decades, the Eastern Michigan Eagles.Kickoff for this Week 7 game is set for Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 2 p.m. ET at Peden Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.... 

The 15^th-ranked Boise State Broncos are big home favorites on Saturday as they host the Colorado State Rams in a game that can be seen on ESPN 2. The Rams are 3-3 on the season and coming off a big win against Utah State while the Broncos are 5-0 and off a win against New Mexico. This Week 7 matchup is not expected to be competitive as the Broncos are laying more than four touchdowns.This contest in Week 7 of the regular season will go down Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 10:15 p.m. ET at Albertsons Stadium.... 

The 13th-ranked Houston Cougars will try and bounce back from last week’s loss to Navy as they host the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Saturday in a game that can be seen on ESPN 2. It may not be easy for Houston in this Week 7 matchup as Tulsa comes into this contest at 4-1 with an offense that is averaging over 39 points per game. Oddsmakers are not giving Tulsa much respect as Houston is laying almost three touchdowns.Kickoff for this regular season Week 7 game is set for Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 7 p.m. ET at TDECU Stadium.... 

For the first time ever, there will be not one, but two football games being played during the Texas State Fair. The Red River Showdown went on as planned last week and this week the Cotton Bowl will host the Air Force Falcons and the New Mexico Lobos in a battle of Mountain West sides. This College Football Week 7 matchup is meant to entice support from all the Air Force families in the region and should draw a heavy Air Force crowd....
