Old School Meets New School
The Nebraska Cornhuskers aren’t quite in the same echelon as the elite teams in the Big Ten, but have nonetheless put together a nice season and can cap it with a road win against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The teams will face off in Week 13 of the college football season....
The Boise State Broncos are used to winning the Mountain West, but will need some help as the season wraps up in Week 13. They need to take care of business on the road against Air Force and then hope Wyoming loses in order to capture the Mountain division....
The Missouri Tigers’ disappointing season will come to an end in Week 13 with no hope of bowl eligibility. With that in mind, it will be hard for the group to muster the proper motivation to knock off the visiting Arkansas Razorbacks....
It’s been a great season if you’re a school from Michigan with a direction in your name. The Eastern Michigan Eagles are going to make their first bowl since 1987 this season and the fan base is ready to travel someplace warm for the postseason. Their opponent on Tuesday, the Central Michigan Chippewas, scored the biggest out-of-conference win for any MAC team when they knocked off Oklahoma State two months ago and that win also helped them get to six. Central Michigan will be looking for its fifth straight win in this series....
The Miami of Ohio Redhawks have a chance to make history on Tuesday night. The Redhawks started the season 0-6, but have won five in a row since then to not only have a chance at bowl eligibility, but a chance at a MAC East title with a win coupled with an Ohio loss. Standing in their way will be the Ball State Cardinals, a team that has only one win in conference play this season, but has shown signs of life recently....
The North Carolina State Wolfpack will wrap up their schedule on Friday in Week 13 action against their in-state rivals, the North Carolina Tar Heels. This is certainly a tail of two very different teams with the Wolfpack struggling in conference play while the Tar Heels have had more success, including upset wins on the road against Florida State and Miami....
Any chance that Ed Orgeron had to remain the coach of the LSU Tigers disappeared after the Bayou Bengals lost to Florida this weekend. The loss was LSU’s fourth on the season and despite the team looking better under Orgeron than it had previously, that likely means he is on his way out. It’s very possible that LSU’s game this week against the Texas A&M Aggies will be his last in Baton Rouge and his team wants to send him out with a win....
Win and you’re in. As long as the Ohio Bobcats get a W on Tuesday night against the Akron Zips, they will win the MAC East and a trip to Ford Field to take on either Toledo or Western Michigan in the MAC Championship Game. The Bobcats are hungry for the win, having not reached the conference title game since 2011, and haven’t won the MAC in almost 50 years. Meanwhile, their opponents are looking to get that all important sixth win to get to a bowl game....
There really isn't necessarily a whole heck of a lot left to say about Week 13 of the college football season aside from the fact that it's Rivalry Week. A Top 5 team is guaranteed to be beaten for the third straight week when Ohio State plays against Michigan, and there's sure to be one last shakeup before conference title games are played out in Week 14....
One of the tougher opponents in the Mountain West, the Wyoming Cowboys will host the west leading San Diego State Aztecs in Week 12 action. The Cowboys are hoping to upset yet another Mountain West elite just as they were able to do against Boise State a few weeks ago....
It’s hard to find two more opposite teams in the same conference than the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. These two steams square off in Week 12 action on Saturday night with Penn State holding out hope for a Big Ten title game appearance and Rutgers just looking forward to the season’s end....
Western Kentucky has been the only Conference USA team that’s cause the Old Dominion Monarchs any trouble and that should continue as the regular season starts to wind towards a close. The Monarchs will travel to Boca Raton for their second to last regular season game 5-1 conference record at stack to take on the Florida Atlantic Owls in Week 12....
After a huge loss to Iowa in a game where the Michigan’s offense went silent and the refs played a significant role, the Michigan Wolverines will look to bounce back in a big way when they return home for Week 12 action to host the Indiana Hoosiers. Michigan has beaten Indiana in 20 consecutive meetings....
The Air Force Falcons beat the San Jose State Spartans in a landslide victory at the U.S. Air Force Academy a season ago and will look to do the same, this time on the road. The Spartans will hope to surprise in Week 12, much as they did in Week 10, as they once again enter a home game as underdogs....
The Big Ten Conference is arguably the strongest conference in the nation with four teams ranked in the top 10 and six teams ranked in the top 25. The conference has a shot of getting two teams in the final four. Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin and Penn State all have a chance and the final two to three weeks will clarify the outcome. Things are a bit cloudy right now and could get even cloudier as the season comes to a close. If Ohio State wins out they will secure a BCS spot, but not represent the Big Ten East in the Big 10 Championship game. Penn State beat Ohio State and would go face the winner of the Big Ten West. If Michigan beats Ohio State, the Wolverines would have the inside path to the BCS and end the Buckeyes chances. Wisconsin, despite two losses, could sneak into the BCS picture. If they win out and win the Big Ten Championship game, they would deserve to go. Time will tell, so keep your chin strap buckled and let the final two weeks play out....
The Clemson Tigers’ undefeated season vanished last week when Pittsburgh pulled off a big-time upset. Clemson’s path to the College Football Playoff is fuzzier now, and it depends on a number of factors. All the Tigers can do is win convincingly, and they will aim to do so in a Week 12 road matchup with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons....
The Oklahoma State Cowboys have destiny in their hands when it comes to the race to the Big 12 title. However, oddsmakers don’t see them pulling it out. Oklahoma State has only lost once in conference play but are road underdogs in this Week 12 college football matchup against the TCU Horned Frogs....

Records paint a misleading picture for this one as we’re looking at a pretty good matchup for the first meeting between these two programs....
In a bit of a David versus Goliath showdown, the Purdue Boilermakers will host the Wisconsin Badgers in Week 12 action with the Badgers neck-and-neck with Nebraska atop to West division of the Big Ten standings while Purdue is pulling up the rear. Record wise, the only thing the Boilermakers have going for them in the Big Ten is at least they’re not Rutgers....
An upset victory last year as the Ohio State Buckeyes on edge as they head to Michigan to take on the Michigan State Spartans in Week 12 action on Saturday afternoon. The Buckeyes remain in the hunt for a playoff spot and are in need of a huge win piggy backing on a couple dominating wins over the last two weeks....
The Washington Huskies took a big blow to their College Football Playoff chances with a loss at home against USC a week ago. Washington will certainly need to be perfect the rest of the way in order to have a shot at the playoff, which begins in Week 12 with a home game against the Arizona State Sun Devils....
The USC Trojans may have started the season slowly, but they are one of the hottest teams not just in the Pac-12 but the entire country right now. USC is fresh off a win over previously-undefeated Washington and will aim to keep rolling in a Week 12 matchup with the UCLA Bruins....
