Old School Meets New School
The College Football Playoff Semifinals will take place on December 31. At 3 p.m. ET, the Washington Huskies will face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Peach Bowl, while the Clemson Tigers will face the Ohio State Buckeyes at 7 p.m. ET in the Fiesta Bowl. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN....
The Navy Midshipmen are looking to wrap up an impressive regular season in the old rivalry game with the Army Black Knights. Navy had its four-game winning streak snapped last time out but gets this contest at a neutral site and has had great success in this matchup in past years....
Tom Herman is out for the Houston Cougars as the team will head to the Las Vegas Bowl against the San Diego State Aztecs under Todd Orlando instead. While Herman may be gone, Greg Ward Jr. is still here and we’ll be in for a fun one with him and Donnel Pumphrey leading their respective offenses. Both teams boast strong defensive units, too, so we should be in for a real treat....
The Troy Trojans will look to cap a memorable regular season when they face off against the Georgia Southern Eagles in Week 14. Troy won just four games a year ago but can reach double-digits with a victory in this one....
The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns are one win away from bowl eligibility as they head into the regular season finale against the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks. The pressure is on the Ragin’ Cajuns in Week 14 as they aim to emerge victorious in a road game....
The Arkansas State Red Wolves’ six-game winning streak may have been snapped last week, but they still only have one conference loss and are in contention for the Sun Belt title. Texas State is winless in conference play and is the heavy underdog but would love to play the role of spoiler...
The Idaho Vandals seem to already have their bowl destination set, but hope to go there on a four-game winning streak. Idaho will face off against the Georgia State Panthers in the regular season finale for both sides in Week 14 of the regular season....
The Wyoming Cowboys and San Diego State Aztecs aren’t exactly zooming into the Mountain West Championship game. Both teams lost their regular season finales in a parity-filled conference but put together enough of a resume to advance to the conference title game....
The Washington Huskies would love to capture the Pac-12 title against the Colorado Buffaloes, but their aspirations are bigger than that. In order to have a shot at the College Football Playoff, Washington will need to win this matchup against a tough opponent....
The Baylor Bears’ hot start to the season has disappeared and the oddsmakers don’t hold out much hope they can stop the slide against the West Virginia Mountaineers. The Big 12 foes will wrap up the regular season facing off in Week 14, and the Mountaineers will be heavy favorites....
The Alabama Crimson Tide likely have enough room for error to lose the SEC Championship game and still make the College Football Playoff, but they would prefer to head into the national semifinals in style. They will face off with the Florida Gators for the conference crown in Week 14....
The Kansas State Wildcats and TCU Horned Frogs are out of the running for the Big 12 title but the winner of their Week 14 matchup will improve their bowl positioning. They are pretty similarly talented and as long as all the key players participate the spread doesn’t figure to be too high....
There are clear paths for Alabama and Clemson to make the College Football Playoff, but the other two spots are up for grabs. Might the Big 12 winner get in? That’s the hope of both the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys, who face off in the regular season finale in Week 14 with a won on the line....
The South Alabama Jaguars can clinch bowl eligibility with a win in the regular season finale over the New México State Aggies. South Alabama plays at home in this Week 14 matchup and is a substantial favorite, so it is looking like the team should be able to take care of business to qualify for the postseason....
The Broncos are sizable favorites as they have rolled through the conference season and don’t seem to have many weaknesses. Western Michigan is setting itself up for a nice bowl game but Ohio can not only play spoiler but improve their bowl standing in this neutral site affair....
Penn State has caught fire of late and became the unlikely winner of the Big Ten East because of a head-to-head win over Ohio State, but is likely to be the underdog in this showdown with Wisconsin. The Badgers have an elite defense and hope it can lead them to a conference championship and a subsequent shot at the national semifinals....
The Clemson Tigers can punch their ticket to a second consecutive College Football Playoff with a win over the Virginia Tech Hokies in the ACC Championship Game. Clemson made it to the national championship game a year ago and returned a lot of talent, so many believed it could make a repeat run....
After a 3-3 start to the season, the Temple Owls have been one of the hottest teams in America over their past six games. They will aim to push their winning streak to seven in a matchup against the Navy Midshipmen in the American Athletic Conference Championship game in Week 14 of the season....
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have reeled off six consecutive wins and will aim for the Conference USA championship when they face off with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. These two teams faced off earlier in the season and Louisiana Tech won, but this time around Western Kentucky is the favorite....
Championship weekend is upon us. The Week 14 college football odds are always as tight as could be, and this year isn't an exception. At least two of the four spots in the CFP are up for grabs, and basically all of the spots in the New Year's Six are left to be determined, too. The number of games isn't what we're used to seeing, but the magnitude of said games is out of this world....
This is the last week for some teams as we head down the final stretch of Big Ten Football. A lot is on the line. Both divisions are still up for grabs and other teams are fighting for wins in order to be bowl eligible. Once again the conference has four teams ranked in the top 10 and arguably is the best conference in the nation. The No. 2 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes face No. 3 Michigan in a huge game in Columbus that could clutter the BCS picture even more. If the Buckeyes win and Penn State beats Michigan State, the Buckeyes would be ranked No. 2 in the country, but it would be Penn State that would represent the east in the Big Ten Championship game. The Nittany Lions beat Ohio State and would win the tiebreaker. Elsewhere, Minnesota travels to play Wisconsin in a big division West matchup. The Badgers control their own destiny and are a two touchdown favorite. Penn State hosts Michigan State and the Iowa Hawkeyes look to keep things rolling with a home game against Nebraska....
The Tennessee Volunteers hit the road up to Nashville to face the Vanderbilt Commodores in Week 13. The Vols have won the last two meetings and are the favorites again on Saturday, but this an in-state rivalry game featuring two SEC teams; anything could happen....
This is the third straight week that the Indiana Hoosiers will try and become bowl-eligible and while the first two attempts weren’t fruitful, there is no reason Indiana shouldn’t easily topple the Purdue Boilermakers in Week 13. The only real question here is can they win by enough to cover a spread that’s nearly three touchdowns wide?...
In a battle for supremacy in The Magnolia State, the Mississippi State Bulldogs will matchup against the Mississippi Rebels in a Week 13 throw down. Ole Miss plays host this time around looking for their third straight victory in this head-to-head battle. A win for the Rebels would make them bowl eligible in an otherwise disappointing campaign....
The Minnesota Golden Gophers and Wisconsin Badgers battle it out in Week 13 with the Big Ten Conference West Division still in play. Minnesota has the advantage in the all-time series by a game, but it’s been the Badgers who’ve dominated the series of late, winning the last 12 meetings....
