Notre Dame has won two of its first three, with the lone loss coming by a point to a nationally ranked Georgia team. The Spartans are 2-0 but have yet to face a team that has the caliber of players as the Fighting Irish.This is a good barometer for each side after they both finished with four wins or fewer a season ago.... 

The teams will play at a neutral site and the spread is low enough that this game could go either way. Texas A&M has had an adventurous non-conference slate, blowing a huge lead in a loss to UCLA and then needing a rally to knock off Louisiana-Lafayette last time out.Despite those struggles, this is still a winnable game as the Razorbacks are coming off a blowout loss to TCU. Both of these teams badly need this win and it should be a competitive showdown.... 

After getting thrashed at home by the Clemson Tigers last Saturday night, you can’t help but think the Kent State Golden Flashes will serve as nothing more than sacrificial lambs to the No. 19 Louisville Cardinals who are badly in need of a get well spot. That said, this is an awful lot of chalk linemakers are asking Bobby Petrino’s kids to eat, and the hangover effect could play an enormous role on how this game plays out.... 

The Miami Hurricanes have been forced to sit on the sidelines due to actual hurricanes over the last couple weeks, so it goes without saying that Mark Richt’s kids will be eager to get back onto the playing field for their first matchup against an FBS opponent. Be careful what you wish for however with the Toledo Rockets not your average MAC team that will just pay South Beach a visit and leave all black and blue.... 

Everyone seems to be all aboard the bandwagon of the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Oklahoma State was seen as the second-best team in the Big 12 prior to the start of the season but now its tilt against Oklahoma in the first week of November very well could determine a spot in the College Football Playoff. Coach Ed Orgeron has harped on accountability since last week’s drubbing at the hands of Mississippi State. The LSU Tigers committed nine penalties and lost 112 yards of field position because of those penalties and he has let his team know it in the lead up to this week’s game against the Syracuse Orange. The Florida State Seminoles are ready to get back on the field. Hurricane Irma has wreaked havoc on Florida State’s schedule, causing the Seminoles to cancel a game against an FCS foe and postpone their tilt with Miami three weeks into the future. It’s been three weeks since we saw them open the season against Alabama and a lot has changed across the college football landscape. The Mississippi State Bulldogs are riding high after scoring perhaps the biggest win of Week 3. Mississippi State trounced LSU in its best performance in a long time in the series between those two schools, having its way with the Tigers on both sides of the ball. However, now it’s Dan Mullen’s turn to go on the road in SEC action. Are the Purdue Boilermakers back? Purdue is one of the biggest surprises of this young season. This team sits at 2-1 right now and has been competitive in all three of its games so far. That’s a far cry from where it has been in the recent past. The Michigan Wolverines meanwhile have limped across the finish line the past two games since throttling Florida in the opener. Michigan didn’t look good against either Cincinnati or Air Force and now gets an unexpected test in its first Big Ten game of the season.This contest in Week 4 of the regular season will go down Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 4p.m. ET at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana. Newsflash. Missouri is bad y’all. The Missouri Tigers continue to have major problems on the defensive end and were routed by Purdue at home this week. It was a dismal performance for a team that was supposed to start looking better in 2017 in coach Barry Odom’s second season on the job. That’s music to the ears of the Auburn Tigers, who are once again struggling on offense. Can the Stanford Cardinal actually fall to 1-3 on the year? The Cardinal dropped consecutive road games against USC and San Diego State after opening with a dominating win over Rice in Australia in late August. Those two losses put Stanford in a bad position and pretty much eradicated its national title hopes. The UCLA Bruins dropped a tough one to Memphis on the road this week and will look to kick off Pac 12 play on the right foot here.... 

Although the Colorado Buffaloes had a dream season last year, not many expected them to repeat that feat in 2017. Colorado had a big shakeup in its coaching staff and star quarterback Sefo Liufau was no longer in Boulder. However, the Buffaloes have gotten off to another good start and might be able to yet again contend for a Pac 12 title. This team will face their first test on Saturday night when the Washington Huskies come to town.... 

No one thought that both of these teams would be undefeated at this point in the season. Sure, everyone thought that the USC Trojans would probably be 3-0 heading into this game. USC entered the season ranked in the Top 5 by most observers and has remained unblemished despite some hiccups. The same can not be said for the California Golden Bears. Most Golden Bears fans would have been elated at a 2-1 start given their tumultuous offseason, but instead they are 3-0 and have a great chance at making a bowl game. Knocking off USC is a huge ask though....

This is your father’s Baylor Bears. After a brief respite, the Bears are once again one of the worst teams in the Big 12 and are big home underdogs to the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday evening. Baylor has yet to win a game this season, but at least showed a pulse when it went on the road and hung with Duke for a little bit before bowing out. The Penn State Nittany Lions would like you to know that there is a third team vying for the Big Ten East. Whereas most of the attention usually goes to either Michigan or Ohio State, Penn State has picked up right where it left off last season and continued its run atop the division. The Nittany Lions haven’t been tested yet, but will this week when they go on the road for the first time this season. There’s no doubt that the Utah Utes know they are walking into a dangerous situation this week. Utah is undefeated and ranked heading into the start of its Pac-12 schedule, but it knows that the Arizona Wildcats are going to be a tough challenge. The Utes opened as a field goal favorite for that very reason and many will have them on upset alert on Friday night. The Ohio State Buckeyes left no doubt who was the better team last week against Army. A week after getting throttled at home by Oklahoma, the Buckeyes piled on the yardage over four quarters in an easy win over the Black Knights. They have one more game before starting their conference schedule on the road against Rutgers next week and will look to make the most of it. What can the Clemson Tigers do for an encore at this point? Clemson has the most impressive resume of any team in college football right now with wins over Auburn and Louisville. The Tigers defense led the way in the win over Auburn, while the offense took charge in the big win against Louisville last week. Now, Clemson must fight complacency when the lowly Boston College Eagles limp into town after getting demolished by Wake Forest and Notre Dame at home in consecutive weeks.Kickoff for this regular season Week 4 game is set for Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. ET at Clemson Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina. One of these two teams was expected to enter this game undefeated and in the driver’s seat in its half of the SEC, the other one was certainly not. The Alabama Crimson Tide continue to be an unstoppable force crushing everything in their path. They have registered three comfortable wins this season and look set to roll over an SEC West that looks a lot easier than it did at the start of the year. The other team in this game, the Vanderbilt Commodores, were not expected to be in this spot. However, their defense has led them to a 3-0 start to the season and they look set to at least make a bowl. This might be the first time that the Commodores have ever been somewhat optimistic heading into a game against mighty Alabama.This matchup in Week 4 of the regular season will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2017,at 3:30 p.m. ET at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. This game will be broadcast on CBS.... 

The Boise State Broncos should be 3-0. If not for a fourth quarter collapse against Washington, the Broncos would be ranked and have a shot to finish the year undefeated and get the Group of Five bid to a New Year’s Day bowl. Alas, they blew that lead, but have another chance to beat a power five opponent when the Virginia Cavaliers come to town. Virginia has already matched last season’s win total and is looking a lot better in Bronco Mendenhall’s second year at the helm in Charlottesville. A win here would be huge for the psyche of the program.... 

The Temple Owls might be one of the least impressive 2-1 teams in the country. Temple got blasted by Notre Dame in its opener and only barely squeaked by FCS Villanova and lowly UMass the last two weeks. This week, the Owls will face another ranked team, but they too have disappointed. The South Florida Bulls have been ranked in the bottom of the Top 25 all season long, but have yet to put forward a quality first half of football. They will try to do that for the first time all year this week.... 

College Gameday will be headed to the Big Apple for the first time in the show’s history this week and if that’s not an indictment of the games this week, we don’t know what is. There are some interesting matchups to be sure, but there isn’t a marquee game that’s appointment viewing like there is most weeks. There are only two games between ranked foes this week and since both road teams are expected to come back down to Earth soon, ESPN decided to spend the week in New York City instead of on campus somewhere.... 

Baker Mayfield is living the dream. Mayfield eschewed the chance to leave early for the NFL last season, saying he wanted to come back for one more year in Norman. He is off to a fantastic start after blitzing Ohio State last week in a game that wasn’t even that close. If it wasn’t for the Oklahoma Sooners’ inability to finish off drives deep in Buckeyes territory in the first half, the score would have been a lot more lopsided as the Sooners grabbed revenge. In their final game before entering Big 12 play, the Sooners take on the Tulane Green Wave this week and are expected to paste them.This matchup in Week 3 of the regular season will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2017,at 6 p.m. ET at OU Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. This game will be broadcast on OKPV.... 

Texas didn’t look good in a season-opening loss to Maryland, and even after bouncing back last time out, it will be a big underdog on the road in this one. The Trojans have an impressive offense and it could be a lot to ask for the Longhorns to keep it in check.USC has moved up to No. 4 in the national rankings and is angling for a College Football Playoff spot at the end of the year. The Trojans can’t afford any slip-ups, including in this matchup against Texas....
