The Baltimore Ravens will look to head into their bye week with a 6-3 record to maintain first place in the AFC North, but it’s not easy to beat the New Orleans Saints in the Big Easy. New Orleans is coming off a shutout win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week, and the Saints are trying to make up ground on Atlanta in their division race.
We will officially reach the midway point of the NFL regular season after this week’s Monday Night Football showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints. These teams will meet at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.
NFL Week 9 Betting Odds

New Orleans Saints +2.5

Odds Analysis
Initially, Baltimore was installed as a field goal favorite by the opening NFL betting odds. However, there has been some action on New Orleans , knocking that number down by a half-point. We have seen movement on the total too with the over/under dropping from 48.5 to 47.5.
Baltimore Ravens
Former NFL MVP Lamar Jackson is one of the most important players in the NFL and is on pace to run for over 1,000 yards for the third time in the last four seasons. Jackson hasn’t been too prolific through the air this season, averaging just 204.4 YPG passing, but he has run for 553 yards and is averaging 7.4 YPC. Unfortunately, he might be without the top three skill position players on the Ravens in this game.
Top receiver Rashod Bateman has already been ruled out with a foot injury, while tight end Mark Andrews is Questionable to play because of shoulder and ankle injuries. First-string running back Gus Edwards is also Questionable despite only recently returning from injuries that sidelined him for all of 2021, so Kenyan Drake could be the go-to back on MNF.
This defense improved at the trade deadline with the addition of Roquan Smith from Chicago for a second- and fifth-round pick. Smith leads the NFL in tackles, and he will instantly make this linebacking corps one of the best in the NFL. The defensive line has been hurting with Michael Pierce on injured reserve and Calais Campbell banged up, so it’s been important to help the second level.

New Orleans Saints
Alvin Kamara finally found the end zone for the first time this season in last week’s 24-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Kamara has run for 413 yards (4.3 YPC) and is the second-leading receiver on the Saints with 287 yards (8.7 YPR). Taysom Hill continues to be a dangerous runner and receiver (and sometimes QB) too.
The leading receiver on New Orleans is rookie Chris Olave. He has been thrust into the spotlight with injuries to Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry, and he has 37 receptions for 547 yards and two touchdowns on the year. Thomas and Landry are still questionable, so Tre’Quan Smith and Marquez Calloway could see a few passes each from Andy Dalton.
New Orleans had an elite defense the last few seasons. However, the Saints have been merely mediocre on this side of the ball in 2022 despite the addition of Tyrann Mathieu.
Marshon Lattimore has missed a lot of time, and P.J. Williams and Bradley Roby are injured. This front seven has underperformed too, and Marcus Davenport has just a half-sack through eight weeks.
Ravens at Saints Free Pick
This is an interesting matchup. Baltimore deserves to be favored, but New Orleans is a very live dog at home. Andy Dalton has played surprisingly well under center the last few weeks, so the call is for the Saints to pull off the upset provided he continues to make good decisions with the ball in his hands.
