Bills at Lions NFL Week 15 Parlay Picks

In a potential Super Bowl preview the Buffalo Bills visit the Detroit Lions on Sunday in Week 15 of the NFL season. The Bills may have been looking ahead to this matchup and were caught off guard in a 44-42 loss to the Rams last week, ending their 7-game winning streak and putting them further behind Kansas City in the race for the top seed in the AFC. It was no fault of Josh Allen, though. The front-runner for league MVP accounted for six touchdowns in the loss. Jared Goff has something to say about the MVP award and has a solid body of work for the club with the best record in the NFC. Goff engineers the NFL’s highest scoring team and it’s no surprise that the total of 54.5 is the highest on the Week 15 Bitcoin Sportsbook board and also the largest in any game this season.

It will actually be a feat if both teams make it to New Orleans in early February. The Bills have been stopped short or reaching the big game a number of times in recent years by the Kansas City Chiefs. At least the Bills can take solace in the fact that they beat their nemesis Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs during their recent winning streak, handing KC its only loss so far. While it’s been a number of years since the Bills actually played in a Super Bowl, at least they’ve been there. The Lions are one of a few teams never to have made it that far. They came close losing twice in the NFC Championship, including last year’s setback to San Francisco.

We can’t question Allen and the Bills offense. I guess we can and ask why the Bills are the second-highest scoring team in the league, but that’s just splitting hairs. Allen has thrown for over 3,000 yards with 23 touchdowns and only five interceptions while completing 64 percent of his throws. Those numbers alone don’t scream MVP, but toss in his work running the football and Allen and the Bills are tough to stop. Allen has rushed for 416 yards and another nine TDs to lead a balanced attack. The Bills have the12th best passing game, 11th best ground attack and rank 10th in total yards.

As is often the case games that are supposed to go one way do the opposite. We would expect to see points scored with the two highest scoring teams in the NFL going at it. The Bills have scored at least 30 points in each of their last seven games and lost the one contest during that spell in which they had their highest point total. One issue with Buffalo’s offense is its inability to control the football; the Bills rank 20th in average TOP often leaving their defense on the field for too long. You don’t want to change the offense, but sometimes the fast-paced approach is counterproductive.

At 12-1 and riding an 11-game winning streak, the Lions can’t afford to take their foot off the gas. They lead the NFC North but are just a game up on division rival Minnesota and Philadelphia for the best record in the conference and the first round playoff bye that comes with it. Goff has put up big numbers outdueling Allen in several categories. Goff has more passing yards, TD passes and a higher QB rating, but has thrown more interceptions. That can be attributed to one game where Goff threw half of his 10 picks, yet the Lions still won, beating Houston 26-23. That tells us something about the Lions and their QB.

With one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and boasting a cadre of playmakers, the Lions appear unstoppable at times. They have the fourth-best passing and rushing attack and average nearly 400 total yards. Between them Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery have nearly 1,800 rushing yards and 22 TDs. Detroit’s balance will keep Buffalo on edge and I like the Lions to cover the spread. And I do think this game goes according to script which is why the OVER is part of my winning NFL same game parlay.
