Buffalo Bills Season Win Total Odds

The Buffalo Bills are Josh Allen’s team now. Allen was the team’s first round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and the Bills are ready to see what they have with the former Wyoming Cowboys quarterback. He wasn’t a particularly accurate passer as a rookie, but anyone who watched him in college knew that it would be hard for him to be accurate in the NFL. However, he did prove himself to be a rather adept runner. It will be interesting to see how the Bills use Allen in that regard.

Buffalo Bills
Over 7 Wins -130
Under 7 Wins +108

If they weren’t in a bad division, the win total for the Buffalo Bills would be less than 7. However, it appears that many people are bullish on the Bills chances. The over has been bet up, and they are considered to be relatively even with the New York Jets.

The Bills will take on teams from the AFC North and NFC East in cross-divisional play, and that doesn’t bode well for the over. Those are two of the deeper divisions in the NFL, and three of the four teams in both divisions are better than the Bills. This schedule is very fortuitous though. The lack of long road trips will help as they play all 16 games in the Central or Eastern time zones.

Ed Oliver was a fantastic selection with the ninth overall pick in the draft. Oliver is an incredibly talented defensive tackle that can take over games, and he proved himself against elite competition as a freshman. He slipped in the draft as the lack of great competition led to him taking plays off at times last season, but there’s no question that he has All-Pro potential.

Cody Ford was drafted to fill the void at guard after John Miller was signed by Cincinnati in free agency. He is expected to start along the line immediately.

Buffalo Bills 2019 Prediction

The Bills want to run the ball as much as possible. They have a stable of quality running backs, and they could run more often than any other team in the NFL. LeSean McCoy is looking to bounce back after a disastrous 2018 campaign that saw him average just 3.2 yards per carry, and TJ Yeldon and Frank Gore were added in free agency to help out as well. However, one of those two will likely be cut before the start of the season due to the selection of Devin Singletary out of Florida Atlantic in the third round of this year’s draft.

This passing game is likely to be anemic once more. Allen has a big arm, but he struggles to keep it within the hash marks, and the Bills will likely look to utilize the underneath game. Zay Jones should catch a lot of underneath passes like he did at East Carolina, and Cole Beasley will run a lot of short yardage routes too. John Brown was signed to stretch the field and keep safeties honest.

Defensively, the Bills could be pretty solid. Tremaine Edmunds showed some promise last season, and I’ve already raved about Oliver. Some are calling Tre’Davious White one of the top three cornerbacks in the league, so that will free up others to provide more help coverage.

I think the under is the play though. Buffalo is likely going to pull out one or two wins thanks to Allen’s ability to move the chains by running the ball, but his inability to throw accurate passes will lead to opponents daring him to complete passes. The under here is one of my favorite plays on the board.
