The Green Bay Packers look to continue their dominance over the Chicago Bears when the NFC North foes renew their storied rivalry in the Week 14 edition of Sunday Night Football. The Packers are in contention for the top seed in the conference and can keep pressure on Arizona with their sixth consecutive win in the series. Coming off their bye the Packers are expected to have some key players back in the lineup in time for the stretch run. The fading Bears have dropped six of their last seven games but will have Justin Fields back in the lineup. That move didn’t sway the spread with the Packers positioned as a 12.5-point favorite on the NFL betting line
This regular season Week 14 matchup will take place on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 8:20 p.m. ET at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI and will be televised on NBC.

Odds Analysis
Green Bay is getting a lot of support at the betting window forcing the line up slightly. The Packers opened laying 11.5-points and have been wagered to -12.5, the largest spread on the Week 14 betting board. They’ve been a solid play all season going 10-1 ATS since their opening day humiliation by the Saints. The Packers bounced back from a loss in Minnesota by stomping the Rams 36-28 ahead of their bye improving to 5-0 SU and ATS at Lambeau. They have five straight wins and payouts against the Bears overall and they’ve won the previous five games in Green Bay going 4-1 ATS in that span. The Bears are going the other direction with last week’s loss to Arizona their sixth in seven games. They’re also 1-6 ATS over that spell.
Player to Watch
The quarterback position remains a huge issue for the Bears, but they get their starter back for this game with Fields medically cleared to play. He missed the last two games with fractured ribs and said earlier in the week that if he can endure the pain he’s going to practice and play. Fields may end up being worthy of the No. 11 overall pick the Bears used to get him and he has all the tools. But playing for the Bears is where QBs go to die. And because the offense has staggered around the last few seasons Matt Nagy is on the hot seat.
Fields hasn’t exactly lit it up this season completing just 58.1 percent of his passes for 1,361 yards with more interceptions (8) than touchdowns (6). He does give the offense a different look with his ability to run and elude defenders, but he will be hampered by the sore ribs. He hasn’t completely avoided defenders, though. Fields is the fourth-most sacked QB getting taken down 31 times and he’s only started eight games. He’s also been philanthropic with the football totaling 11 turnovers by himself. However, he does give the Bears their best chance of winning.
Key Stat
Turnovers play a major role in the NFL, if you don’t believe me just look at the data. The bad teams typically cough it up a lot and the good ones take it away. In this case the Bears do the former and the Packers the latter. The Bears have turned the ball over 19 times, the fifth-highest total in the NFL with Fields and Andy Dalton combining to throw 14 interceptions. Their minus-8 turnover differential is better than just two teams. Fields has also fumbled the football nine times losing three of them. Meanwhile, the Packers have the fourth-best differential at plus-9. Aaron Rodgers has thrown only four interceptions with half that total coming in the season opener. Rodgers has gone five consecutive games without throwing a pick to the Bears and not surprisingly Green Bay has won and covered them all. He is 21-5 all-time as a starter against the Bears.
Free ATS Pick
As long as Rodgers is quarterbacking the Packers will have an edge. And with the expected return of defensive starters Jaire Alexander and Za’Darius, a defense that sagged the previous two games should get a boost, though it won’t take much to stop Chicago’s anemic offense. It’s hard to pass up 12.5 points, which by the way is the largest spread in this series in a decade, but I don’t have confidence in the Bears and their coach.
NFL Pick: Green Bay Packers -12.5 / OVER 43
