The Los Angeles Rams won the NFC West in each of Sean McVay’s first two seasons at the helm. While the team did miss out on the postseason in his third season calling the shots, it got right back in the second season last year by churning out a 10-6 regular season campaign to look up to the Seattle Seahawks in the final divisional standings. The franchise has experienced winning marks in each of his first four season’s roaming the sidelines, and online sportsbooks expect another +.500 record to get churned out in the 2021-22 NFL betting season with LA one of only eight teams that owns a double-digit win total. There was however a changing of the guard in the offseason. In at QB1 is now Matthew Stafford who came over from the Lions after Jared Goff was sent to Detroit. The defense will also have a new shot caller in Raheem Morris who came over from Atlanta after Brandon Staley’s lone season calling the defensive shots for Aaron Donald and company landed him the gig with the Chargers.
Los Angeles Rams Season Win Total: 10.5 Under -153
Only the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers +255 own shorter odds of winning the NFC than that of the Rams who offer up greater than a 5-1 payout should they pull off the feat for the second time in the last four seasons. That being said, their +193 odds of winning the NFC West title for the first time since 2018 are right in line with the San Francisco 49ers +205 and aforementioned Seahawks +227. With that, it can only be deduced that divisional play will be like nothing short of a gauntlet! Heck, the Arizona Cardinals could surprise as well - this division is tough as nails! That means all hands will need to be on deck to come out of it alive, and unfortunately, the offense already suffered a huge blow after Cam Akers ripped his Achilles in training camp. While McVay could probably put anyone behind PFF’s No. 8 rated offensive line and succeed, Akers was a game changer as he exhibited at the tail end of last season.

Los Angeles Rams Win Total Analysis
Los Angeles easily surpassed its 8.5-game season win total odds in 2020-21 by winning 10 of its 16 played regular season matchups. It likely would’ve been more than that had the offense not stunk the joint up with regularity. Seriously, how the heck did they manage just 20 points in a head scratching 23-20 defeat to the New York Jets in Week 15? That loss cost them the division title! Regardless, the offense looks to be pretty stacked with Stafford now under center. His trio of wide receivers in Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Van Jefferson rank out as one of the best units the league has to offer. Look out if Desean Jackson has anything left in the tank! With Gerald Everett now in Seattle, Tyler Higbee could flourish as the primary tight end. Donald, Leonard Floyd and Jalen Ramsey shouldered much of the defensive load last season. With all the snaps the unit logged last season due to the offense’s inefficiency, it won’t be able to mask those deficiencies as well this season with all the miles racked up. LA’s offense must rise to the occasion for it to be successful and live up to season win total bettor’s expectations.
I think Stafford and company will have it in them to do just that even with Akers now out of the mix. However, I have my doubt about the defense. It was forced to play a ton last season and came through more times than not. All those miles racked up could take a toll as soon as this year. On top of that, Stafford hasn’t been a pillar of health recently either. If he goes down, the chore of running the offense will fall into the hands of three inexperienced back-ups. The schedule rates out as the 23rd toughest per the folks at Sharp Football Stats with eight out of division games lined up against the NFC North and AFC South. The tail end of it looks nightmarish with four of its final seven games to be played on the road against the Packers, Cardinals, Vikings and Ravens. Its other two standalone games come at home against the Bucs and on the road against the New York Giants. If the defense fails to match or exceed last year’s outputs with a new DC in charge and the offense continues to suffer backbreaking injuries, Los Angles won’t come close to eclipsing this hefty impost. Goff wasn’t the only problem with this roster. Bottom line, the Rams fail to come up with the big plays when needed. Though it’s chalky, I’m riding the fade train with the Rams in 2021-22.
Los Angeles Rams Season Win Total Prediction: Under 10.5
