NFL Betting Futures – Super Bowl 53 Odds Update

The Los Angeles Rams are the lone unbeaten in the NFL after the Chiefs were beaten by the Patriots in an epic battle between AFC heavyweights last week. And those three remain at the top of the updated Super Bowl 53 odds board at BookMaker.eu for at least another week. The Chargers, Steelers, Vikings, Eagles and Ravens all improved their odds with wins last week while the Jags and Bengals faded after losing their Week 7 games. The Rams stayed perfect and showed that they can play a grinder game, knocking off the Broncos on the road. They remain the odds on favorite at +245.

The Chiefs lost by a field goal to the Pats, but they impressed oddsmakers enough to actually improve their odds. The Pats remain as the second favorite at +585 while the Chiefs moved to +615 on the odds board at BookMaker.eu. After suffering two straight blowout losses, the Jags were the biggest losers, watching their odds climb to +2550. The odds are fluid and will continue to move until playoff time, but you can scratch Arizona, San Francisco, Oakland and Buffalo off the list as they are all at +100000 or greater. Here are the current Super Bowl 53 odds at BookMaker.eu after Week 6 of the 2018 NFL regular season.

Despite losing their first game of the season, the Chiefs might be the biggest winners of the week. They hung with the defending AFC champs on Sunday night, overcoming a 24-9 halftime deficit and taking a second-half lead before falling by a field goal at the final gun. KC has been a regular season contender under Andy Reid but they seemed to always have dry spells in the middle of the year. It’s still early as we haven’t hit the halfway point in the season yet, but this team looks much different and the offense is nearly unstoppable.

After blowing teams out in their first three games, the Rams proved they can play and win the tight ball games. They beat Denver, 23-20, last Sunday to stay undefeated and they’ve won their last three games by a total of 12 points. The injury bug has finally caught up with them and they will be tested with games against NFC powers Green Bay and New Orleans after a Week 7 tilt with the 49ers. It’s highly unlikely that the Rams go unbeaten through the season, but they are deep and probably the most balanced team in the league, which is another reason why they are the favorite.

Several AFC teams improved their odds last week and made a leap up the board. The Bolts dominated Baker Mayfield and the Browns with a 38-14 road win and it looks like the defense has caught up with the other side of the football. The Chargers have allowed a total of 24 points in wins over the Raiders and Cleveland, and they still don’t have Joey Bosa in the lineup. They will be better when he returns and if you haven’t scooped up the Bolts yet, it might be too late.

There are a few teams that still play defense and if the old saying rings true the Ravens should be considered in your wager thinking. Baltimore pitched a shutout against the Titans last week, collecting a team record 11 sacks in the process. They jumped to +1750 on the updated odds. And it looks like the Steelers have put their concerns behind them. They entered their bye week on a two-game winning streak, putting to rest rumors of their demise.

The cream of the NFC crop is starting to rise to the top. The Saints are the only other NFC team among the top-5 favorites, coming in at +785, but the Vikings and Eagles, who met in last season’s conference title game, have both moved up. Minnesota is riding a two-game win streak after knocking off Philly and Arizona. The Eagles bounced back from their loss to the Vikes by manhandling the Giants. If you believe in Aaron Rodgers after watching another one of his Houdini acts on Monday, the Packers can be had for a good price at +3100.
