The Week 11 Thursday Night Football matchup could be an elimination game for the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks. Both clubs are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, but they are also within striking distance of a postseason spot. Don’t count out two of the best quarterbacks in the league with Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson dueling to keep the promise alive. The Seahawks are riding a two-game losing streak but opened as a 3-point favorite on the NFL betting line at BookMaker.eu.

Green Bay Packers +3
Seattle Seahawks -3

Both teams missed the playoffs last year for the first time in five seasons. They are on the verge of doing it again and the Thursday night matchup will go a long way toward determining their fate. The Packers snapped a losing streak with a win over Miami last week, but they’ve struggled on the road, failing to win a game away from Lambeau Field this season, going 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS. Green Bay is getting 3-points on the early NFL betting line.
The Packers found some much needed balance in their offense against Miami. Typically when the Pack scores 31 points in a game Rodgers is doing most of the damage. That wasn’t the case on Sunday. Rodgers threw for only 199 yards, but he was efficient completing 19 of 28 with a pair of touchdowns. The game-wrecker on Sunday was another Aaron – Jones.
Searching for a run game to complement Rodgers for some time now, Jones made a statement against the Dolphins. He missed the first two games serving a suspension and had modest numbers since returning to the lineup. He was part of the three-back rotation that included Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams, which limited his attempts and yards. But with Montgomery dealt away, Jones has emerged as the lead back and he did everything against Miami to insure that he stays there.
Jones had the first 100-yard rushing game by a Green Bay player this season – reaching the mark in the first half. He totaled 145 yards on 15 carries for a sparkling 9.7 per carry average. And the team produced 195 yards on the ground with a 7.8 average. With Rodgers still functioning on a gimpy knee, depth lacking in the receiving corps, and an O-line that has struggled in pass protection, look for Jones to get his opportunities on Thursday night.
Seattle just allowed Todd Gurley to rush for 120 yards and the Rams carved out 456 yards of offense on Sunday. It isn’t a leap to think Jones will get his yards in an offense that will work on sustaining a run game. I believe Jones is just scratching the surface of his ability and given the No. 1 job he will eclipse his rushing yard total in a prop bet at BookMaker.eu.
Things will play out differently for the Pack than they did against Miami and Rodgers will need to throw the ball. Should Green Bay fall behind, Rodgers will unload in the latter stages, making up yards on his passing total. That’s a scenario you need to watch closely in order to take advantage on the adjusted live betting lines.
Returning to the power run game that brought the team so much success with Marshawn Lynch toting the rock, the Seahawks amassed 273 yards against the Rams and lead the NFL with over 152 yards per game. With leading rush Chris Carson shelved by an injury, Rashaad Penny went off for 108 yards and Russell Wilson had 92. Seattle has used a three-pronged approach out of the backfield with Carson, Mike Davis and Penny all running for more than 250 yards on the season. Watch for the Seahawks to continue running the football and throw down on them topping their team rushing yard total.
Packers at Seahawks Live Betting
There’s plenty at stake with both teams looking to climb back into the playoff picture. These teams were postseason regulars for years until last season when they both missed out. Green Bay had an excuse last season when Rodgers was lost with a broken collarbone. He’s back and has worked his magic in a few games this season. And given Seattle’s lack of success in close games, don’t pass on the Pack should they fall behind. All five of the Seahawks’ losses have been by one score and they’ve dropped two in a row at home, so they have to be questioning themselves in a game they need to win.
