It’s time to break out the crystal ball with a boat load of NFL futures offered at top online sportsbooks. If you think this is the year your favorite team has the pieces to reach the Super Bowl try parlaying that confidence into a matchup winner. That’s right, bettors can wager on Super Bowl LIV matchups among other NFL futures at BookMaker.eu.
It isn’t a surprise to see the defending champion New England Patriots featured prominently on the list of matchup odds since they are a regular at the Super Bowl. The Pats made their third straight appearance last season and their 11th overall. Since 2001 when Tom Brady and Bill Belichick forged an unbreakable bond, the Pats have been to nine Super Bowls. That number alone has them leading all franchises in Super Bowl visits.
A rematch with the Los Angeles Rams is among four games listed at the top of the odds board. The Rams would certainly relish the opportunity to make up for the stinker they had in February, but keep in mind the same teams have played in consecutive Super Bowls just once in 53 games. The Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills are the only clubs to go back-to-back, doing so following the 1992 and 1993 seasons.

The Patriots and Super Bowl are synonymous. A few generations of NFL fans only know Brady and the Pats sitting at the apex of the football world. What New England has accomplished over the last nearly two decades in the salary cap and free agency era is mind-boggling, and as long as the coach-quarterback tandem is together the Pats are a likely suitor to reach the Big Game again.
Brady has accomplished nearly everything during his NFL career and he’s played his best football the last few seasons. We keep thinking that age will finally catch up with him – he recently turned 42 – but that hasn’t been the case. And nobody knows Brady better than Brady. When the competitive fire is extinguished he’ll call it quits. That hasn’t happened yet. And that’s why the Pats are all over the matchup odds.
Oddsmakers feel strongly that New England will be playing in February. The Pats have Super Bowl LIV matchup odds listed for all but four NFC teams – Washington, New York Giants, Detroit, Arizona. A feather in Brady’s cap would be matching the record for consecutive Super Bowl appearances. Buffalo holds the mark of four and the Pats can match that with Tom Terrific riding off into the sunset.
There are a number of good teams around the league and the top four from a season ago are sprinkled at the top of the matchup odds. Along with the Pats-Rams tilt, we also have New England against New Orleans and Kansas City facing the top two NFC clubs with those four games all listed at +1800.
It’s always nice to see some new blood competing in the Super Bowl and there are several matchups I’d like to see. The Chiefs and Rams had an epic Monday Night battle in 2018 and seeing them square off would be a treat. A Brady versus Drew Brees showdown would be the ultimate with both players nearing the twilight of their career.
If you’re leaning toward the Pats you can buy a matchup with the San Francisco 49ers at +7000. Brady against his former understudy Jimmy Garoppolo offers plenty of intrigue. However, the Niners aren’t reaching the Super Bowl and will be lucky to make the playoffs this season. A better pick is having the Los Angeles teams face each other. The Rams and Chargers are both poised for deep postseason runs after stellar 2018 campaigns. That matchup would be great for the NFL and for SoCal with the teams set to move into their gazillion-dollar stadium in 2020.
