NFL Betting – Week 5 Teaser Picks

NFL Betting – Week 5 Teaser Picks

We came close to hitting our three-team teaser last week until the FitzMagic ran out in Chicago. However, that won’t stop us from taking another go at it in Week 5. We have a four-team wager lined up this week and turning the odds in our favor gives us a better chance at cashing the winning ticket. Teasers allow us to move the spread or total by as much as six points with a minimum of two wagers. Most sportsbooks, including BookMaker.eu, allow players to increase their points at a price and more wagers are accepted which would allow for a higher payout on a winning ticket. Let’s take a look at a winning Week 5 four-team teaser bet at BookMaker.eu.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

Opening Line: Browns +3

Teaser Line: Browns +9

Just like the name of the bet, the Browns were a big tease last week falling to the Raiders, 45-42, in overtime. However, they did cover our line on the adjusted teaser odds and I’m going with them again this week. They are a different team with Baker Mayfield running the show and they actually scored points, which is a huge improvement from the 100 other quarterbacks who took a shot before Mayfield.

I’m not betting on the Browns to beat the Ravens, I don’t think they’re at that point yet. But Mayfield gives them a swagger they lacked with Tyrod Taylor. Despite his four turnovers last week, the Browns were still a play away from beating the Raiders. Things will be a little different this week. The Ravens haven’t allowed a second-half touchdown all season, but the Browns hadn’t scored 40 points in a game since 2007.

New York Giants at Carolina Panthers

Opening Line: Giants +7

Teaser Line: Giants +13

Even Eli Manning can’t screw this one up. The Giants find themselves in a familiar position after a quarter of the season – stuck in last place in the NFC East. While the G-Men have been better defensively, their weapons on offense haven’t been unleashed. Saquon Barkley has struggled to run the ball consistently and Manning has been unable to get the ball in the hands of Odell Beckham Jr. The Giants shouldn’t be this bad with all the talent and I expect them to find a rhythm soon. After all, Pat Shurmur got a career year from Case Keenum last season in Minnesota so there’s no reason why it can’t be done here.

Olivier Vernon and Eli Apple are poised to return to the lineup this week and that will help against Cam Newton and the Panthers. The Panthers haven’t exactly lit it up this season and their defense has shown some cracks. They are coming off a bye and that can be good or bad. The Giants are hoping for the latter so they can at least stay within two touchdowns and get us a win on our teaser bet.

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks

Opening Line: Rams -7

Teaser Line: Rams -1

The Rams are clearly the class of the NFC West and possibly the entire conference and league after their blistering start. They have some concerns in the secondary following the loss of Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters to injury and Russell Wilson has a way of taking advantage of those things. The Rams are clearly the better team and should win this game, but Seattle’s home field advantage is worth something and I’d rather spot them one point than a touchdown just in case.

When these teams last played the Rams gave Seattle a thorough beating in their yard and I expect the home team to come out firing. However, the Rams will withstand the initial push and will come out on top in a game that’s closer than most expect.

Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers

Opening Line: Cardinals +4.5

Teaser Line: Cardinals +10.5

The Cards have yet to win a game this season, but they’ve come close the last two weeks and could easily be 2-2. They blew a 14-point lead to the Bears and had the Seahawks on the ropes until a missed field goal allowed Seattle to steal the game. They aren’t as bad as their record indicates and they found some offense under the direction of Josh Rosen, who started for the first time last week. The Cards scored a season-high point total in that game

Playing last week on emotion and losing, the reality of what the remainder of the season holds will catch up with the Niners. The loss of Jimmy Garoppolo to a knee injury took the wind out of their sails and they just aren’t good enough to beat Arizona by 11 points.
