The No. 1 seeds in each conference are back in action as the NFL playoffs continue with Divisional Round games this weekend. The NFC’s Detroit Lions and AFC’s Kansas City Chiefs, who both finished the regular season at 15-2, get the festivities started on Saturday as big favorites in their matchups. The Chiefs begin pursuit of their record third straight Super Bowl title by hosting the Houston Texans in Saturday’s early game to get second round started. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. ET on ABC. KC won the regular season meeting, 27-19, in Week 16 covering the 3.5-point spread. The line at the Crypto Sportsbook has increased with the Chiefs laying 8-points. Houston has never advanced past this stage of the postseason going 0-5 in their previous divisional round contests.
After setting a franchise record for wins in a season, the Lions have emerged as the biggest favorite on the board laying 10-points to Washington on the early line. With two prolific offenses the total of 55.5 is also the highest among the four games. FOX will air the game at 8 p.m. ET. This is also the only matchup of the weekend that wasn’t featured during the regular season. Following convincing wins in the wild card round the Eagles are a 6-point home favorite against the Rams. Philly beat Green Bay 22-10 while LA sacked Sam Darnold nine times and held a fourth opponent in the last five game to less than 10 points in a 27-9 win over the Vikings. The week closes when MVP front runners Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen clash. The Ravens won the Week 4 matchup 35-10 with LJ and Derrick Henry doing a number and they’ve won their last five games with payouts in all of them. The Ravens are the only road team favored at the time of this writing spotting the Bills 1-point.

NFL Divisional Round Parlay Picks
Chiefs -8 vs. Texans
Lions -10 vs. Commanders
Rams +6 at Eagles
Bills +1 vs. Ravens
Hopefully I have more success on my NFL parlay picks in this round than I had on Super Wild Card Weekend. The only win on my three-team ticket came when I backed the Rams at +1. They beat Minnesota outright, 27-9. Pittsburgh faded down the stretch and went out with a whimper in a 28-14 loss to Baltimore. The 10-points did me no good as did backing the OVER in Washington’s 23-20 win at Tampa Bay.
I’ll go with a four-team NFL parlay this week with a wager on each game. The week off will certainly help KC and Detroit, which is why I’m backing them in the Saturday games. The Chiefs played a bunch of close games this season but there last three wins were by an average of nearly 14 points, including an 8-point decision over Houston in Week 16. KC has won the last four meetings overall and three straight at home with three payouts.
I also have a feeling the Lions are on a mission this year and a plethora of injuries won’t derail them. I was considering backing the OVER in this game, but I don’t think Jayden Daniels is ready for the big stage. And Detroit’s offense appeared unstoppable at times. Jared Goff had a fantastic season and with an abundance of playmakers the Lions averaged a NFL-best 33.2 points.
Saquon Barkley should thank the Rams for helping him surpass 2,000 rushing yards this season. In their Week 12 game Barkley rushed for 255 yards and two TDs on 26 carries in a 37-20 victory. Philly also sacked Matthew Stafford five times and held the Rams to less than 300 total yards. LA’s defense has improved significantly since then holding four of their last five opponents to less than 10 points. Seattle scored 30 in a meaningless Week 18 matchup. The Rams were flying on Monday night recording nine sacks and intercepting a pass while keeping the Vikings out of the end zone until late in the third quarter. Stafford is a winner and the Rams have weapons to keep this game close, which is why I’m backing the points.
Lastly, I had a hard time going back and forth with this one. The Ravens are hot and they’ve played fierce defense turning their season around. Jackson can give opposing defense fits and Bills have had their share of difficulties on that side. However, the game is in Buffalo and Allen has something to prove after one of his worst games in a 35-10 loss in Baltimore in Week 4.
