NFL Draft Props

When the NFL Draft gets underway on Thursday, April 26, fans will have a chance to wager on a number of propositional bets, from who the first overall pick will be to the number of Alabama Crimson Tide players that will be selected in the first round. That’s because the Draft has become as popular to bet on as any game during the season and BookMaker.eu is there to take care of your wagering needs.

There is no consensus No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, though USC’s Sam Darnold is the odds-on favorite at -175 to be taken by the Cleveland Browns. In recent weeks there have been talks in Ohio about the Brownies leaning toward Wyoming’s Josh Allen, and that moved him up the odds board at +140. Before we can dive into the prop bets, we need to get the draft underway, and the first overall pick could be one of a few players, making this an interesting wager.

2018 First Overall NFL Draft Pick Odds
Sam Darnold ( QB ) -175
Josh Allen ( QB ) +140
Saquon Barkley ( RB ) +550
Josh Rosen ( QB ) +1000
Baker Mayfield ( QB ) +1000
Bradley Chubb ( DE ) +3300
Minkah Fitzpatrick ( DB ) +3300

BookMaker.eu offers a plethora of prop bets to spice up the annual event and make it even more interesting. On top of the No. 1 overall pick, you can wager on the first quarterback taken in the draft. Darnold is the favorite to be selected first overall and that makes him the favorite in this category as well. But the draft is always unpredictable and we never know about the Browns, who have shown the ability to butcher their selections in the past.

And remember, the Browns also have the No. 4 pick, which will also guarantee them a QB if they decided to go another route with the first pick. And there are several prop bets available surrounding the quarterback-rich draft class.

First QB Taken in the 2018 NFL Draft
Sam Darnold -280
Josh Allen +150
Baker Mayfield +792
Josh Rosen +2556
Any other player +6439

A wager on Darnold is safe for both bets, but not a huge payout since he is the prohibitive favorite in both categories. Darnold is ready to compete in the NFL and will likely get his chance once training camps open. The Browns acquired Tyrod Taylor after the DeShone Kizer experiment failed, and that allows them time to groom a guy like Allen, who has a cannon for an arm and the prototypical size for a successful quarterback.

There are numerous other props involving the most important position for an NFL club.

Number of QBs Drafted in First Round of 2018 Draft
5.5 Over +170
5.5 Under -230

Interesting bet here since several mock drafts have at least six going in the first round, but the oddsmakers believe otherwise. Darnold, Allen, Josh Rosen and Baker Mayfield have been touted among the top-10 while Lamar Jackson is a projected middle first-rounder. Mason Rudolph has seen his stock rise in the last few weeks as well. Of course it all depends on the needs of the teams making the picks and talent available at the time of their selection, but I can see this prop going over the 5.5 total.

Will the Top 3 Picks in the 2018 NFL Draft be All QB’s?
Yes +128
No -155

Saquon Barkley makes this a no for me. Barkley is probably the most gifted player in the draft and the Browns could throw a wrench in the plans by taking him at No. 1. That still leaves a quarterback available for them at No. 4. The Giants could also use Barkley to upgrade their awful run game and he’d be a nice get for the G-Men at No. 2 if the Brownies take a QB. Either way, Barkley gets the nod at one of the top two spots to make No a winner.

There are several talented defensive players available in the draft and there is no shortage of bets regarding that side of the football. One prop is for who the first defender taken will be, and Bradley Chubb leads that list. Another prop has the number of defensive players selected in the first round.

Total Defensive Players Drafted in First Round
14.5 Over -264
14.5 Under +155

The draft class is top heavy with offensive players and those players are getting the publicity heading into the draft. But after five quarterbacks, one or two receivers, a few offensive linemen and Barkely, there is plenty of room for teams to upgrade on D and this bet should go over.
