The Dallas Cowboys showed off their new acquisition on Monday night. You know, the guy who is going to make Dak Prescott look like a NFL quarterback. Amari Cooper did his job, Prescott didn’t and the road to the playoffs just got much steeper. Looking to rebound from a frustrating and potentially disastrous loss to Tennessee, the Boys visit the Philadelphia Eagles for the Week 10 Sunday Night Football matchup. Coming off its bye, Philly will unveil its own new weapon, and Golden Tate has been a thorn in the side of the Cowboys throughout his career. The Eagles opened as 6.5-point chalk on the opening NFL betting line at BookMaker.eu.

I guess we can say the group of receivers isn’t all to blame for the Cowboys slumbering passing attack. They had plenty of time to incorporate Cooper into the game plan and the former first-round pick got the starting nod against Tennessee in his Dallas debut. Still, it was a subpar performance from Prescott that sent the Cowboys to their second straight loss and third in the last four games.
Even with their new No. 1 receiver, the Cowboys played conservatively on Monday night and the offense lacked creativity. It’s been the same scenario for the past few years, and while it worked when Dak and Ezekiel Elliott were rookies, it has become stagnant. Cooper made an impact on the second Cowboys drive, catching a 19-yard touchdown pass for one of his five receptions. He was targeted eight times and totaled 58 yards.
With the season on the brink, the Cowboys need to do something drastic, and that starts on the offensive side of the football. I expect Jason Garrett to expand the playbook and get away from handing the ball off to Zeke on what seems like every first down play. In theory it’s a good strategy with one of the best running backs in the league. But the numbers haven’t been there and opposing defenses key on stopping the run knowing Prescott isn’t willing to or simply can’t pass the football.
Dallas didn’t trade a first-round pick to have Cooper become another Cole Beasley. They got him to be a difference-maker, and they’ll put him in situations to do just that. Cooper and Prescott had a good rapport in their first game as teammates and you can look for that to continue. Dak hasn’t thrown for a lot yards this season, but he did have one of his better games in terms of yards on Monday night. Look for the two to hook up more often with Prescott going over his total for yards on a prop bet at BookMaker.eu.
The Eagles should lean on Tate in his first game with his new club. While still with the Lions, Tate had a monster game among many against the Cowboys in Week 4 when he caught eight passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns. And we know how much Carson Wentz enjoys throwing touchdown passes. He was leading the league last season before being shelved with a knee injury and he hasn’t stopped this year since coming back. Wentz has a scoring pass in all six games and has at least two in each of the past five contests.
Marcus Mariota enjoyed a fine game against Dallas on Monday night and Wentz should have success throwing the football. Look for Wentz and his new receiver Tate to find the end zone at least once on the live betting platform at BookMaker.eu.
Cowboys at Eagles Live Betting
Three times in the last seven years the Eagles came off their bye with a matchup against the Cowboys. And all three times Philly was victorious while covering the spread. They did it last season, thumping the Boys in Big D, and they look to continue that trend on Sunday night. The start of this game is crucial for the Cowboys. If they can throw the ball effectively it will open the ground game for Zeke and the second half would be worth wagering on for the visitors in live betting action. If the troubles continue, there’s no way Elliott will produce and the Eagles should pull away. Given the home field advantage and coming off a bye, look for Philly to aim for a fast start against demoralized team and hit the live betting lines.
