NFL Live Picks - Falcons at Saints Predictions

Just in case you thought the New Orleans Saints weren’t the best team in the NFL right now, they once again showed why they are, pounding the defending champion Eagles, 48-7, on Sunday. The Saints have won nine straight games since dropping their opener and the closest one in the run was an overtime thriller against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3. That outright cover win was the first of eight in a row against the spread making the Saints the best team at the betting window as well.

Watch this Week 12 regular season matchup live on Thursday, November 22, 2018, at 8:20 p.m. ET from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The Falcons offense has disappeared and so have their chances of reaching the playoffs. Atlanta surrounded its Week 8 bye with three straight wins by twice scoring more than 30 points and averaging nearly 32 points per game. But the points dried up in a 28-16 loss to Cleveland two weeks ago, and the Falcons managed just one touchdown in a 22-19 loss to Dallas last Sunday.

Despite two straight frustrating losses, the Falcons aren’t out of the playoff picture. However, with virtually no chance of overtaking the Saints for the NFC South, they are battling with a group of other teams for one of two wild card spots, and that group consists of eight teams that have between four and six wins. So, last week’s loss to Dallas sure hurt their chances. Vic Beasley got to the point when asked about his teams visit to New Orleans on Thanksgiving Night, “No doubt, we’ve got to win out. We’ve got to win out.”

A loss to the Saints would have the Falcons looking ahead to next season, and for a team that had such promise entering the campaign, you can bet they are going to fight like hell to not let that happen. The only problem is that the Saints look to be a far superior team. In an attempt to negate that disadvantage, expect a lot of unexpected from the Falcons. That means trying some fake punts or field goals, an onside kick, and even some gadget plays, so be ready on the live betting feature at BookMaker.eu.

We’ll see more of the same from the Saints, who just do what they do and do it very well. The Saints were looking to bolster the receiving corps on the league’s highest scoring unit and signed Dez Bryant, only to have him go down with an Achilles injury before playing a snap. Brandon Marshall was next on the list, and the veteran was inactive on Sunday.

Turns out New Orleans may have had the guy they were searching for on their roster the entire time. Given a chance with season-ending injuries to Ted Ginn Jr. and Cameron Meredith, rookie Tre’Quan Smith turned out to be Drew Brees’ favorite target against the Eagles, which is a bit of a surprise considering he played 50 snaps the previous game in Cincinnati and wasn’t even targeted.

The Saints offense is about discovering mismatches and exploiting them. They picked on the Eagles with Smith, who had 10 catches among his 13 targets for 157 yards and a touchdown. Smith had just 214 yards on 12 catches entering the game. But he became the focal point when the Eagles double-teamed Michael Thomas and tried to eliminate Alvin Kamara from the passing attack. Obviously it didn’t work.

And that shows us just how potent the Saints can be. They have weapons all over the field, a running game that keeps defenses honest, and the most accurate passer in the NFL. It adds up to the highest scoring team in the league and the runaway train isn’t going to stop, especially with a chance to put their long-time rival out of its misery.

Falcons at Saints Live Betting

It’s not easy to score 40 points in a game, but the Saints have topped that number in three straight games and six times overall this season. They put up 43 on the Falcons in Week 3 and do so effortlessly. If Thomas isn’t killing an opponent, Smith is on the other side. Kamara and Mark Ingram make up the best running back tandem in the league, and Brees, well, you know about him. The Saints are rolling and the Falcons aren’t going to stop them.
