The NFC West looks like one of the best divisions in football in 2019, with the defending champion Los Angeles Rams aiming to hold off both the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers for divisional supremacy. The Rams are coming off a surprising home loss to Tampa Bay and will aim to bounce back quickly when they travel to Seattle for an important Week 5 clash.
The Seahawks and Rams are both 3-1 on the season with designs at making the playoffs, and this game could have huge repercussions down the line.

Odds Analysis
The oddsmakers are expecting a competitive clash as the Seahawks have been listed as the 1-point favorites in this matchup. The scoring total is listed at 49 points as both teams have good enough offenses to put up points consistently.
Key Stat
55. That’s the number of points the Rams gave up last time out in a surprising home loss to the Bucs. Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston was 28-of-41 passing for 385 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. Chris Godwin had 12 catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns while Mike Evans also caught a touchdown pass and had a solid day.
The Rams have to fix their secondary issues, but the good thing is that Seattle is not built to attack downfield as much. The Seahawks prefer to run the ball with Chris Carson and choose their spots throwing it deep. This game is not expected to be the same type of shootout, but regardless, if Los Angeles can’t slow down Russell Wilson in the passing game, the team is going to have a tough time winning on the road.
Player to Watch
Todd Gurley -- The Rams’ running back has not looked like his former superstar self in the earlygoing, as there are whispers that a degenerative knee condition is keeping down his workload. Gurley had seven catches for 54 yards against Tampa Bay but was not a factor on the ground, running the ball five times for only 16 yards, although he did score twice.
The Rams need Gurley to pick it up to give the team some balance offensively. At this point, the Seahawks would probably prefer that Los Angeles beat them through Gurley, as Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks are a great trio of receivers.
NFL Pick
The Rams just played a really long game at home and now must travel quickly to play on ‘Thursday Night Football.’ The Seahawks had a much easier time against the Cardinals in Arizona and should be in a better frame of mind. Something is not quite right with the Rams early this season, as they have yet to look like the team that made the Super Bowl a year ago. They are going to sputter once again in this one. The Seahawks are the choice to defend their home field with a victory and will cover the small spread.
The “over” is the choice on the scoring total as these teams will really get things going in the second half, trading blows until the Seahawks finally secure the victory late in the contest.
NFL Pick: Seattle Seahawks 27, Los Angeles Rams 24
