Last week’s announcements of Tom Brady departing the New England Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philip Rivers taking flight from the Los Angeles Chargers to the Indianapolis Colts quickly changed the landscape of the NFL Odds. The ripple affect goes far beyond the aforementioned teams and extends to rivals that will see their prospects potentially rise and or fall because of these changes. With that in mind now is an excellent opportunity to evaluate the fluctuation of the futures board for Super Bowl LV and the 2020 NFL championship.

VIDEO Super Bowl LV Futures Odds Analysis
As is usually the case most of the public bets futures NFL lines based on the past. It starts with the fact that the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are favored to repeat. Also tied to this phenomenon is a Baltimore team that was the top seed in the 2019 AFC Playoffs, and the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers. Then there is the uber-public Dallas Cowboys, AKA “America’s Team.”
Kansas City Chiefs
Much of the Chiefs Super Bowl run was done by a wing and a prayer with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who triggered comeback wins in all three post season games. Since the 1999 season only the 2003-2004 New England Patriots have been repeat Super Bowl champions.
Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore went 14-2 for the best regular season record in football but was exposed badly in their AFC Playoff loss to Tennessee. Was it a blip or portent of things to come?
San Francisco 49ers
The NFC champions paid the price for their lack of explosiveness in the Super Bowl loss to Kansas City. Further, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was outed as a fine game manager but hardly an impact player.
Dallas Cowboys
As usual, America’s Team carries a public retail mark up on the price tag. Mike McCarthy is a coaching upgrade but the roster is better suited for winning at fantasy football than the Super Bowl.
New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees returns but the Saints window may be closing as they were not as good defensively last year compared to 2018.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Here we get to test the chicken or the egg theory. Was it Brady or Belichick that sparked the Patriots dynasty? While the Bucs surround Brady with more playmakers a leaky defense will likely offset that.
Green Bay Packers
Coach Matt LaFleur jumpstarted the offense but the defense laid down and died in a miserable playoff loss at San Francisco. Aging Quarterback Aaron Rodgers faltered in that game as well.
Indianapolis Colts
Frank Reich is an excellent coach and worked together with Philip Rivers while with the Chargers. Rivers may be good for one more big year and had comparable numbers to Brady in 2019.
New England Patriots
The last time he didn’t have Brady, coach Bill Belichick went 11-5 with backup quarterback Matt Cassel. Never count out The Hoodie!
Buffalo Bills
Fresh off a playoff season the Bills have impressed with free agent signees and will be even better for 2020. And with Tom Brady now out of New England is the pathway cleared for an AFC East title run?
Los Angele Rams
One year ago, anyone that had a cup of coffee with Rams coach Sean McVay was being offered the world to come coach other teams. Now, not so much. Do the Rams return to take the NFC West or is it permanently surrendered to San Francisco?
Super Bowl LV Futures Odds Pick: Baltimore Ravens
