Facing the last two AFC Championship Game combatants in back-to-back games isn’t the most ideal schedule. But the Kansas City Chiefs made the first part of the twinbill a success by rolling through the Jacksonville Jaguars last week to remain undefeated. KC got some help from Blake Bortles and they threw a 30-spot on one of the best defenses in football, further validating the status of Patrick Mahomes. There will be no shortage of prop bets and live betting features when the Chiefs try to take down Tom Brady and defending AFC Champion New England Patriots in a marquee Week 6 Sunday Night Football matchup.
Watch this Week 6 regular season matchup live on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 8:20 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium.

New England Patriots -3.5
Over/Under 59
Mahomes has changed the way the Chiefs play and he’s also changed the way oddsmakers view games. With points and touchdowns at an all-time high through the first five weeks of the season, the Chiefs are near the top of the league rankings in points scored, and the opening total of 59 for their showdown with Brady is not only the highest of the week, it’s the highest of the 2018 season.
It’s a little early to start claiming Mahomes as the greatest quarterback ever, but he’s having a solid beginning to his first season as a starter. Of course, he’s surrounded by the same group of playmakers that made Alex Smith look like Joe Montana, so we still need a larger sample size. But Mahomes and the Chiefs have passed every test so far, and the second-year player is even getting rave reviews from Pats coach Bill Belichick, a man who throws compliments around like manhole covers.
Given the amount of offensive talent that will be on the field Sunday night, it’s tempting to side with the over on a total bet. But there’s a reason why we rarely see over/under numbers get this high. And just when you start to believe the New England defense is too slow, doesn’t have enough game-changing players or can’t rush the passer, they always seem to find a way.
Belichick’s recent praise for Mahomes tells us that he’s watched some film of the guy, rather he’s studied some game film. And nobody breaks down tendencies better than the Pats coach. Mahomes will throw the football because he has one of the most prolific arms in the game, but look for the Pats to devise a game plan to limit the number of big plays and keep Mahomes below his passing yardage total on a prop bet at BookMaker.eu.
While all the pub has been about Mahomes and the Chiefs offense this season, don’t look now but the Pats are playing very New England-type of football over the past few games. They ended a two-game losing streak by pummeling the Dolphins and followed that up with a 38-24 win over the Colts last Thursday.
Brady was on fire last week in a duel with Andrew Luck and he brings his best in matchups with other stellar QBs, this one certainly qualifies. Brady threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns and has gotten comfortable with his stable of receivers. With Julian Edelman back in the mix, you can expect a typical short to mid-range passing game that values possession and the clock.
That takes care of two things along the way. First it allows Brady to control the tempo, and second it keeps Mahomes and the Chiefs off the field. Uncharacteristic for him, Brady has thrown two interceptions in each of the last two games and limiting mistakes are a key against the explosive Chiefs, just ask Bortles and the Jags about that. Brady is going to carve up the Chiefs secondary and wager on the over for his passing yards is an easy take. And don’t count either of these teams out if they fall behind. Take advantage of the adjusted lines on the live betting feature at BookMaker.eu to make up the difference.
Chiefs at Patriots Live Betting
With a few extra days of rest following their Week 5 Thursday night tilt and some extra time to prepare for Mahomes and the Chiefs offense, the Pats are in a good spot to end KC’s undefeated run. Brady and the Pats rarely lose at home and they’re playing a third straight at Gillette Stadium after winning and covering the first two. I like the Pats minus the points in this one, and so should you.
