The Dallas Cowboys are on a roll that’s propelled them to the top of the NFC East standings. Behind Ezekiel Elliott, the Boys have run off three straight wins, including a big one over Washington on Thanksgiving Day that got them to the top of the division. Extending their winning to four might be more challenging with the New Orleans Saints on tap for the Week 13 Thursday Night Football matchup. The Saints haven’t lost since the opening week of the season and they are 9-0 ATS in their last nine games.

The Saints keep demonstrating how potent they are and it doesn’t matter who is on the field catching passes from Drew Brees. Winning their 10th straight game, the Saints punished the Falcons with a group of unheralded and undrafted pass catchers doing plenty of damage. The Saints cruised to a 31-17 win, covering the spread for the ninth straight game. It was also the ninth time in 11 games this year the Saints reached the 30-point mark and they lead the NFL with over 37 points per game.
With a defense that’s been lights out the last few weeks the Saints are the most complete team in the NFL. And they don’t need Brees to throw for a gazillion yards every game to make the offense work. Statistically, last week’s effort against Atlanta wasn’t his best. In fact it was far from it. Brees threw for only 171 yards and tossed his second pick of the season. But his four touchdown tosses and four takeaways by the defense offset everything.
It’s the second time in the last five games that Brees has thrown for fewer than 200 yards in a game. No worries though, the Saints have scored a total of 61 points in those games with Brees throwing five touchdown passes. He’s thrown four TD strikes in three of the last four games and has thrown at least two in a game nine times. You can count on Brees and the offense working the ball down the field and when it comes time, he will find one of his receivers for a score. That’s a bet worth taking on a prop at BookMaker.eu.
And when Brees is throwing for a lot of yards, the score has risen as well. Pay close attention to how things unfold over the first few possessions and if the Saints are striking through the air, jump on the over for their projected point total. Things can change in a hurry, but if the game plays out according to the numbers, the Cowboys have a much better chance of pulling off the upset if they can contain the Saints.
The deal for Amari Cooper paid dividends last week with the former first-round pick having his best game in a Cowboys uniform, and his best game of the season with eight catches for 180 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Coop had just 14 catches during his first three games with the team, but his presence was enough to create distractions for opposing defenses.
And the biggest beneficiary is Elliott, who raced for 121 yards last week against Washington, his third straight game with at least that many yards, matching his number of 100-yard rushing games from the first eight games of the season. During the Boys’ three-game winning streak, Zeke has amassed 394 yards on 68 carries with a trio of touchdowns. He’s also been a threat in the passing game, giving Dak Prescott another option with 18 receptions for 137 yards and a score.
The Saints lead the NFL in rushing defense and that should make things tough for Zeke to breakthrough on the ground. However, opponents haven’t run the ball all that often while trying to play catch up, so the numbers are skewed somewhat. I expect Elliott to continue his intense workload since he’s the only threat the Boys have on that side of the football. He’s likely to break a few runs, but if things play out the way most expect, the Boys will be throwing the ball later in the game, taking yards and carries away from Elliott. Fade Zeke on the adjusted betting lines if Dallas gets behind.
Saints at Cowboys Live Betting
Dallas has done a nice job defensively all season, but they were a little lax against the Skins and a backup quarterback last week. They won’t be so lucky this time around. The Saints can score 30 points with their eyes closed and even with Cooper making an impact last week, they don’t have the weapons to keep up. Brees makes everyone around him better, and you can’t ignore him or the Saints on the live betting feature at BookMaker.eu.
