NFL Week 10 Betting Results - Online Football Recap

The dogs were barking in Week 10 of the NFL regular season. Teams getting points covered the closing line in seven of the 13 games with one push through the Sunday night encounter. The favored teams did much better straight up, however, winning eight games. The push on the closing line came in the Jacksonville at Indianapolis game. Coming off their bye the Jags still couldn’t solve their problems and dropped their fifth straight game, though they made it interesting by scoring the final 13 points. The Jags are 0-4-1 ATS during their skid.

For the first time in four weeks we saw the over cash in a majority of games. With totals increasing like the amount of points being scored in the NFL, under bettors had the upperhand in the previous three weeks with the under going 26-15. It’s common now to see games with a total in the 50s and Week 10 was no different. Five games closed at 50 or more points and the over went 3-2 in those games. Tampa Bay is the most profitable team wagering the over, but the Bucs scored just three points in a loss to Washington and the over is now 7-2 in their nine games.

Biggest Week 10 Upsets

The defending champions Eagles fell below .500 with a loss to the Cowboys on Sunday night. Coming off a bye, Philly closed as a 7.5-point favorite against a reeling Dallas club, but the Eagles couldn’t contain Ezekiel Elliott, who ran for 151 yards. The Eagles got more bad news for their banged up secondary when Ronald Darby left the Dallas game with an injury. The off-week certainly didn’t help them health-wise and the Eagles have a date with Drew Brees and the Saints in Week 11.

The seat that Todd Bowles sits on just reached inferno level after the Jets were embarrassed by Buffalo. Playing as a touchdown favorite, New York allowed the punchless Bills to score on their second offensive play, and it just got worse for Gang Green. Buffalo had a 31-0 lead before the Jets hit the scoreboard with a field goal at the end of the half.

Putting Josh McCown into the starting lineup for Sam Darnold didn’t help New York’s offense, which continued to struggle. All the good vibes over their hot start are gone and the Jets have dropped four straight to join the Bills at the bottom of the AFC East.

The division was part of another of the week’s biggest upsets with the Patriots falling as a 6.5-point favorite to the Titans. Bill Belichick and the Pats haven’t had much success against former New England coaches and players this year. In Week 3 the Pats fell to Matt Patricia and the Lions 26-10 as a 7-point favorite. They were gouged 34-10 by Mike Vrabel and the Titans on Sunday. The Pats will likely win another division title, and they have a week off to lick their wounds, but a 24-point loss in November is rare.

With Baker Mayfield playing like a No. 1 overall pick and the Browns reenergized under interim coach Gregg Williams, Cleveland snapped Atlanta’s three-game winning streak winning outright 28-16 as a 5.5-point underdog. Despite their 3-6-1 record, the Browns improved to 6-4 ATS.

Biggest Week 10 Spreads

Three games had closing spreads in double-digits and the favored team won all three straight up. The Chiefs played against the biggest line of the week laying 16-points to the Cardinals. Kansas City had its lowest scoring output of the season in the 26-14 win and failed to cover the spread for the second time in three games. The Chiefs remain the most profitable team on spread betting, however, with an ATS record of 8-2.

Green Bay left no doubt easily dispatching the Dolphins 31-12 as a 12.5-point favorite to snap a two-game losing streak. The Pack got some help from Miami’s Brock Osweiler, turning a pair of turnovers into touchdowns. Green Bay is 4-0-1 SU at home this season but has yet to win on the road. The Pack’s next two games are at Seattle and Minnesota and they’ll likely be underdogs in both.

Derek Carr throwing the ball into the ground on a fourth-down play late in the fourth quarter pretty much sums up the Raiders season. Oakland failed to score a touchdown for the second straight game and the Chargers came away with a 20-6 victory, covering the 10-point closing spread.

There have been 13 games with a double-digit line this season and the favorites are 10-3 SU and 6-6-1 ATS in those matchups.
