NFL Week 11 Teaser Picks - Football Predictions

We got teased by our teaser picks last week, falling a win shy of cashing a four-team ticket. It may seem easy to pick winners when you move the line or spread in your favor, but it isn’t, and that’s why the house is still in business. We were fooled just like everyone else by the Atlanta Falcons recent offensive surge and we expected more than 16 points from them against a suspect Browns defense. Atlanta’s defenders didn’t disappoint, but even moving the total in our favor wasn’t enough. There is no crying over spilled milk so we will move forward to Week 11 and try our luck again. We should do better with our teased lines and we’ll pick the best games to tease with the hopes of beating the house with the top teaser picks of Week 11.

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears

Current Line: Vikings +3

Teaser Line: Vikings +9

Now that the Bears are relevant, this matchup actually has some meaning. And that happens to be first place in the NFC North. This isn’t the John Fox Bears and the team proved that by winning six games halfway through the year, matching the most wins they compiled in any season of Fox’s tenure. The Bears haven’t been in a position like this in sometime and neither has a majority of their roster, so when the chips are down can we trust them? All six of Chicago’s wins are against teams currently with a losing record and the Vikings’ defense is going to give Mitchell Trubisky fits. The Vikings are getting 3-points on the current line and I can’t see them losing by more than a touchdown, if they lose at all. Teasing this line in favor of the visitors makes a lot of sense.

Oakland Raiders at Arizona Cardinals

Current Line: Cardinals -4

Teaser Line: Cardinals +2

This isn’t a pick backing the Cards rather it’s a selection fading Oakland. The Raiders have gotten worse as the season has progressed, and when you thought it couldn’t get any worse after their 34-3 loss to the Niners, it did. The score was closer but the result was the same in a 20-6 loss to the Chargers last week. One play in particular summed up the Raiders season. Down two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter and facing a fourth-down, Derek Carr had a screen pass set up, but the defense sniffed it out. So, Carr tossed the ball into the turf. Game over. It’s not like the Raiders are even trying, so moving this line to give the Cards a few points is a bonus and I’m taking Arizona as one of my teasers.

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints

Current Line: Eagles +9

Teaser Line: Eagles +15

The Saints are good, but I’m betting they aren’t two touchdowns better than the defending champions. Given recent form and this being a home game for the Saints, it’s not surprising that they opened as a big favorite. But nine-points on the opening line seemed like a bit much. After all, the Eagles haven’t fallen that far. Teasing the line six points in favor of the Eagles is too good to pass up. We did just see the Saints and Drew Brees dissect the Bengals last week – by 37 points on the road. But the Eagles are still in the playoff picture, and more importantly the NFC East hunt. Last week’s loss to Dallas stung, and the injuries have decimated the secondary, but look for the Eagles to play with a sense of desperation to cover the enormous teased line.

Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers

Current Total: 46.5

Teaser Total: 52.5

One thing the Bolts don’t get enough credit for is the play of their defense. The group has been an integral part of their six-game winning streak holding opponents to just 13.2 points per game over the last five, and keeping the Raiders out of the end zone in last week’s victory. The Broncos are still much better preventing points than scoring them, and Case Keenum hasn’t been the answer. There was a shift in philosophy when the team dealt Demaryious Thomas at the deadline to make room for younger players to grow in the system. That takes time and the Broncos don’t have much of it. There’s a good chance this one plays under the current total, but teasing the line in our favor guarantees it.
