It turned into a profitable week for us on our money line parlay card as all five of our selections came through to give us a winning ticket. After being stung with big favorites losing outright in previous weeks, there were no such problems. The Rams came through with a win over the hapless Cardinals and the Patriots picked up a victory at home over the Bills. Both teams ended two-game losing streaks as they prepare for the postseason. Our other favorite had a more difficult time, but the Bears rallied for a win over the Niners.
The upset picks were more challenging and considering only three dogs won outright, selecting two of them was very insightful on our part. Taking the scorching hot Ravens on the road as a 4-point dog against the Bolts was risky. LA was coming off an emotional win over KC and we expected a letdown. It’s also tough to go against Seattle at home, and the Seahawks came through in a victory over the Chiefs. There are a lot of unknowns in Week 17, but we’ll try and give bettors some insight on teams have a chance of making a winning money line parlay card.
Let’s look at a few Week 17 games that will help us beat the house on a money line parlay card.
Money Line Parlay Card Favorites
To improve your odds of cashing a winning money line parlay card it’s always a smart play to pick a few favorites. Going with all favored teams gives you a better a chance to win, however the payout isn’t nearly as hefty as what it would be if there were a few underdogs on the card. To increase the odds of a winning ticket and a better payout, we’re going to look at a five-team money line parlay with three favored teams and two underdogs.
Picking a team based solely on the point spread is betting suicide. We’ve seen a number of big underdogs win outright and there’s never a sure thing given the unpredictable nature of the NFL. However, we can back teams by looking at recent form, motivation and injuries. The Chiefs will have added motivation for their matchup with the Raiders on Sunday. This is KC’s last chance to secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC and they would sure like to erase that two-game losing streak that now has many doubting the validity of the Chiefs as a Super Bowl contender.
And the poor Raiders. They played an inspired game last week beating the Broncos in what could be their last game at the Coliseum. But going on the road has been disturbing with the Silver and Black losing all but one away contest, and that win was against the woeful Cards. The Raiders haven’t been able to handle success, either, getting outscored 90-43 in three games following their wins.
The Steelers are another big home favorite and I like them to beat up on the Bengals just so they can feel better about themselves. The playoffs are still a possibility and the Steelers need to take care of business first. And they shouldn’t have a problem against their banged up division rival.
The Rams got back in the win column last week and can secure a first-round bye with a victory over the Niners. Without Todd Gurley against the Cards, C.J. Anderson stepped up with a huge afternoon and Jared Goff was back in the saddle. The Rams also came up with a big defensive effort, led by Aaron Donald. With 19.5 sacks on the season, Donald needs three to tie Michael Strahan’s single-season record. Donald recorded four sacks in LA’s 39-10 win earlier in the season.
Money Line Parlay Card Underdog Winners
There are going to be upsets every week in the NFL. It’s about picking the right games that make the difference between a winning and losing ticket. We hit both our upset picks last week and have a few games on our radar for Week 17. Can we jump on the Browns bandwagon now? The team has exceeded all expectations and can end the season with a winning record for the first time since 2007 by knocking off the Ravens. And all the pressure is on Baltimore, which needs a win to claim the AFC North title. For a change it looks like the Browns nailed the first overall pick as Baker Mayfield has put together a sparkling season. And he’s the type of dual-threat that can give the Ravens defense problems.
After watching the Dolphins throw up on themselves in a loss to the Jaguars, it’s hard to back them against the Bills this week. But they can’t do any worse, and Adam Gase has pledged to go with Ryan Tannehill and his starters. Hopefully the Fins learned something against the Jags’ defense since they are playing another strong group in Buffalo. I think they did and I’ll back the visitors at +162 on the money line.
