It wasn’t a bad start to the season on my NFL parlay picks hitting three of four total wagers and winning my two-team favorite ticket. I’ll try and keep it rolling in Week 2 and up the stakes a little bit when I bet on the NFL using bitcoin. My only loss was backing Green Bay as a 3-point dog in its matchup with Philadelphia. The Packers failed to convert several times inside the red zone and lost by five. They also lost QB Jordan Love due to an injury and their Week 2 line moved because of it. The Pack was favored by as much as a field goal before Love’s injury caused the number to jump the fence in favor of Indianapolis. I’m not sure I want to bet that game, though backing the Colts against Malik Willis is promising. Betting line favorites won nine times in Week 1 and I backed two of them on my winning ticket. Though they failed to score an offensive touchdown the Bears covered the 4.5-point line in their 24-17 win over Tennessee. And the Chargers dominated Las Vegas, 22-10, covering the 3-point closing spread.

Week 2 NFL Parlay Card Wagers
Buffalo Bills +2 at Miami
Chicago Bears +7 at Houston
Atlanta Falcons +6.5 at Philadelphia
I lost on my underdog picks last week but I feel good about my wagers heading into Week 2. Buffalo has owned Miami winning 10 of the last 11 regular season meetings and a playoff contest in the 2022 season. Most of those games saw the Bills laying points and they went 6-5-1 against the NFL betting line. I don’t think the Bills are getting the respect they deserve and this is a good time to show the championship window is open. And they have Josh Allen, who accounted for four TDs in the win over Arizona last week. And he’s tormented Miami over the years.
You don’t see many teams win without scoring an offensive touchdown. That shows just how balanced the Bears are using a defensive and special teams TD to overcome a 17-point deficit for a 24-17 cover against Tennessee. I like Houston with the acquisitions of Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon to balance the offense behind C.J. Stroud, but the Bears will be better offensively in Game 2 of the Caleb Williams era and the spread is too high forcing me to back the Bears.
Don’t base an entire season on the results of one game so I’m giving the Falcons another chance. They had issues on offense in their opener losing 18-10 to Pittsburgh, but they didn’t allow a touchdown and the defense should make things difficult on Jalen Hurts in Week 2. Three turnovers, including a pair of Kirk Cousins interceptions hindered the offense. The group has a good chance to recover against an Eagles D that surrendered 414 yards to Green Bay in Week 1.
Parlay Card Favorites
Washington Commanders -2.5 vs. NY Giants
NY Jets -4 at Tennessee
The NFC East matchup between Washington and the Giants is important in a lot of ways. Not only is it a divisional game, but the teams need to show a lot of improvement over their Week 1 showing. Unfortunately we’ve seen this play out far too often for Daniel Jones and the Giants and I think the team formerly known as the Redskins has a much bigger upside. Jayden Daniels experienced ups and downs in his first career start rushing for 88 yards and a pair of TDs and throwing for 184 yards on 17 of 24 passing. I also expect Washington’s defense to be better under Dan Quinn and winning by a field goal is enough to cover.
Aaron Rodgers has played a lot of football over his career, but being away from the game can allow rust to build up. He looked tentative at times in his first game in a year throwing for 167 yards and a TD in the Jets’ 32-19 loss to the Niners. With that game out of the way I expect Rodgers to be more comfortable with the offense. And the Jets aren’t facing the Super Bowl runner-up. Tennessee was silenced in the second half of their loss to Chicago and I don’t think they have enough offense to cover against the Jets.
